The winner of the Sox/Angels will win the World Series. I would like to see one of the NL teams win it though.

I hate to say this, because me rooting for a team has been the kiss of death lately but I am pulling for the  Cubs! How could you not, all those years and some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in the game

I think the Sox, Angels, Rays, and Cubbies have a realistic shot at the title. The AL Champ is a toss up. I think Chicago has the NL wrapped up.

I could think of a few reasons, and that list would start with the 'greatest fans in the world.'   ::)

OH YOU MEAN THE TEAM THAT CRUSHED 13 RUNS YESTERDAY, I SUPPOSE THAT WOULD SCARE AN OVERPRICED PITCHER

Don't worry it wont continue like that. Here is the Met's projected average runs a game by month....

Speaking of older posts, I seem to remember a 50 Trick Stick bet between Burley and Muddy; something about the Mets not winning their division.  Advantage Burley.

I'm faced with a situation.

I really need to study for the Calculus test tomorrow, but the Sox are getting ready to play their first playoff game...

What to do, what to do?

I hope the Sox play better than the Cubs did. 7-2 ?  ::)  Grand Slam off Dempster?   ::)

Woohoo!  Sox win 3-1 to take the lead in the ALDS.

As you see, I'm posting this before 6am, so you can probably guess that I chose baseball over studying. ;D

It's post season, no harm in that. I missed 4 days of high school the whole 4 years at La Salle. All 4 were opening days at Shea and I went with My Dad and  his brothers ::)

Game 2 should be good.  Santana v. Dice-k.

I'll be 100 miles away on a bowhunting/football game excursion.  Tin, root on without me brother. 8-)

I was sweating it when Lowrie made the error. Sox pulled it off though what a team even with the bumps and bruises.

I can't wait to see Becket drill Manny at Fenway in the World Series. He left on a good note with the fans, but just couldn't shut up.

Not this fan. :-X

Right behind you Hookemdown. Guy is a greedy self centered POS, plain and simple.

The trade hasn't really hurt the Sox so far but I have a funny feeling they might miss Manny's bat in the playoffs before its all said and done.

But the Dodger's are loving it. I would have really liked to have seen the Cubbies do something this year. Almost wish they had the mercy rule, this is painful.

* embarassing. Not the * team I lived and died with over the last 6 months.

That's the only thing getting me through our 0-2 hole; at least nobody expected the 'everyone is injured' Crew to do anything.

No I had a problem when he quit on his team, quit on the fans, and quit on the franchise that paid him $160million! Why? Just because he wanted a different contract and he didnt get his way, thats it. Just wait when whatever team he ends up with goes on a losing skid and he doesnt feel like playing anymore. POS thats all he is, if he didnt know how to hit like he does he wouldnt even be in the majors.

If owners like the Steinbrenners in NY and the bandits that own the Indians can do it to the players then why is it wrong when the players stick it to the owners. He lead the Majors in most offensive catagories since the move. That woud make him right and the BOSOX owners wrong.

Muddy he didnt even want to get onto the plane to go play in Seattle, after playing in Cali in the last 2 weeks he was here. He came into a game in NY to pinch hit in the 8th or 9th against M. Rivera the bat never left sitting on his shoulder, he stood there and took 3 straight pitches called strikes and never took a swing. He later complained he had knee problems they sent him to get an MRI on what BOTH knees they both came back fine.

He then got traded to the Dodgers and then Boris called Theo up and said dont trade Manny he will play. He then now gets what he wanted to play for a long term contract he is carrying the Dodgers offensively, miraculously he is all healed and now can play and hustle? He quit on the Red Sox when it was John Henry who only had admiration for the guy and Manny bad mouthed everyone to try and get a ticket out of town.

Meanwhile you have a guy like Mikey Lowell still playing who practically needs a crutch and a wheelchair to get down the line to 1st base after a hit he is injured so bad. Doesnt compare you couldnt trust Manny to play anymore, thats what it came too.

What I am saying is the owners treat a lot of great palyers this days any way they wnat. Is this the same ownership ( Please excuse me I do not watch the AL at all) that let Boggs leave and wind up in the infield fo the hated Yankees?

Owners since the days of the Black Sox Scandal to the dismanteling of the Oakland A's and Baron Von Steinbrenner have been no less forceful or greedy than the modern player. Look what happend with Seaver, he should have been a life long Met, it just is not that way anymore.

If Manny gets to LA and does not produce, he has egg on his face, if Boston is teeling him we will not negotiate a longer contract, Manny has to smell the possibility of an off season trade, he may have found himself going to somehwere he really did not want go, trade restrictions aside, he controlled his move to a major market team ( endorsements woth more) with a proven manager ans a chance for WS play and he is delivering to the team that provided it.
