Super User Muddy Posted September 25, 2008 Super User Posted September 25, 2008 How is it possible that you miss the playoffs last year with a huge choke effort then add Johan Santana and are still in choke land? Im glad its your team rather than mine my friend. WE NEEDED RELIEF PITCHERS THAT"S WHY! :'( 3 years ago, we had argueably the finest bullpen in the National League. Minya literally let them away FOR NOTHING! He aquired a lot of aging position Players to go along with that bum Martinez. YES BUM: he gets a freaking ache and he is back home, sipping Pina Coladas on the DL list I am grateful for Santana, a Cy Young Caliber effort; BUT HE CAN NOT BE EXPECTED, in todays game TO GO NINE INNINGS EVERY TIME OUT> Last night , once again the PIG PEN blew another 4 runj lead, after the 7 th inning. YOU CAN NOT COMPETE IN POST SEASON 7 game sets WITHOUT A BULL PEN, needless to say can you during the whole year How about this; Martinez: 5-6 ERA 5.50 Heilman 3-8 ERA 5.26 SAVES FOR THE YEAR 3 Shoenweis 2-5ERA 3.25 SAVES ONE FREAKIN SAVE!! The bill for these 3 mooks; 38 million!!!!!!!!! That is a whole seasons production for Shoenweis and Heilman! Martinez ( Least the time off for his fathers funeral) spent most of the season on the DL again Manuel was faced with keeping his starters in too long every game, which was sure to cause further injuries or late season burn out THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM: MINYA :-/ :'( Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 25, 2008 Super User Posted September 25, 2008 Well, after tonight I'm rooting for the Mets. That bullpen is sweet. Quote

Super User Muddy Posted September 27, 2008 Super User Posted September 27, 2008 WOW! Well if you can't trust the pig pen, you throw your best on 3 days rest, and let him keep the ball for the whole game! SANTANA PITCHES A GEM: 3 to zip shutout. He has to get some CY Young votes he now is in the top five in K's , has the lowest ERA and leads in Innings Pitched. Of course all this is not making me dellusional about Oct. :-/ Quote

I see you got your older brother's to settle things for you Well, looks like we might pay you back today. Sheets didn't get out of the third. I have no idea why they pitched him, elbow and all. His fastball was around 88, with a few in the 90's. :-? Quote

Super User Muddy Posted September 29, 2008 Super User Posted September 29, 2008 Seriously You are right, I am hoping that Manuel gets hired and he will have some influence on some of Minya's decisions. Quote

llPa1nll Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Here here, Heres to yet another Mets late season collapse. Sorry Muddy. What's the matter are we having a little trouble letting go of inning 9,Game 6 of the 1986 World Series? Touche', I just like to see the NYYs out of the playoffs. I know we won teh WC but I have some big doubts going deep into October, with the amount of injuries we have. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 30, 2008 Super User Posted September 30, 2008 The Rays are strong but the Angels look to be the team to beat if they get out of the first round this year. This is where the Sox will miss Manny, in short 7 game elimination series. Too bad they had to part ways. Quote
