Super User burleytog Posted September 11, 2008 Super User Posted September 11, 2008 Well, they are playing perhaps the easiest schedule in MLB over the next three weeks. Quote

Both teams gave up large leads. Quote

Do you actually know anything about baseball or are you just trying to insinuate yourself. Look at the d**n schedule. Other than this weekend's series against the Cubs, the Astros play one team with a winning record (Florida at 74-72) over the remainder of the season. They also play Pittsburgh (60-86), Cincinnati (66-80), and Atlanta (65-82). The only way that schedule could be any weaker is if they were also playing Washington and San Diego. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Like I said. EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES!!! ;D ;D ;D 'Stros in the playoffs bro! And in answer to your question: I DO know a thing or two about baseball. I played for 7 years and have been following the Astros & MLB extensivley for the past 5-6 years. I DO NOT claim to know everything about the subject. The cubs are a good team (duh ) we'll just see how the series goes. (Which I might add has been postponed.) Anyways, a playoff spot is a playoff spot, and I don't care how we get there. Remember the Marlins? Wildcard team-----WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! Again, no disrespect intended. -Ike Quote
Super User Tin Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 Your always good for a laugh Ike. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 Anything is possible Ike, but this is noit the same situation the Marlins were in The AL has a very dangerous team in Anaheim, those Angels will probabbly be the favorites. And being a Mets fan, and seeing what they did to the heavly favored Orioles in 69, allows for some room for upset, to say the least. The Rays are also strong In the NL, if the Cubbies do not pull a NY Mets 0y7 complete collapse and break out of this slide, and get hot like the Cards did a couple of years ago, considering Pinella at the helm, I still feel they will be able to take the whole ball of wax! The Dodgers, while getting it together doesnt have the whole package, even with St,Torre at their helm. The Mets don't have the bull pen to win the 2 X 7 game sereies need to finish things up and the Brew Crew is fading, PS What is the only National League Team never to get to the series? Hint; Look out your window Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 PS What is the only National League Team never to get to the series? Hint; Look out your window If you're talking to the baseball genius, the Astros played (and lost) in the World Series in 2005. The only NL team to never make the WS is the Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 woops I stand corrected, I forgot THAT< Hey Burley and Ike that desreves the Rapala of your choice NAME IT : and pm addy1 me and CJ kind of started that for bad predictions, but such a bonehead miscue deseves them too! Super User Muddy Posted September 14, 2008 Super User Posted September 14, 2008 ARUUGGHHH!!!!! > > > Sanatana, high pitch count and all gives the ball to Shoen$##T and he craps out and blows another game, and last I saw the Philthies were beating up on the Crew 5 :zip This off season they had better retire Pedo and most of the bullpen Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 14, 2008 Super User Posted September 14, 2008 Wow Manuel said they were loking for a split and admitted they were counting to win Sanatans start. So they turn Sanatans game over to the bull pen and a 3 run eighth gives an anemic Atlanta team the win, The kid NIESE pitches a brilliant game 2, just up from the minors and got the fans up on their feet in the eigth, a complete game.. 5 to zip shutout! First start in the biggies for him What a shame if you are a Met starter you have to go all 9 to feel secure with a lead. This is gonna bite them in their butts Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 14, 2008 Author Super User Posted September 14, 2008 Jays looked pretty good today. I'm glad we pulled out one in the doubleheader. Quote
