Super User senile1 Posted May 5, 2008 Super User Posted May 5, 2008 The Red Sox bats awakened at just the wrong time for the Rays. I was surprised to see them in first place a few days ago before Boston swept them. Are the Cardinals for real this year? I didn't expect them to be much of a team. Pitching has been surprisingly good. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 13, 2008 Super User Posted May 13, 2008 The chubbies lucked out and escaped Webb. They did give the L to Haren, I'll give them that. He only gave up two earned, but it was enough for a loss. Quote
Fish Man Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 man beckett is not on his game tonight against the O's. not that that is a bad thing . Scott is doing great so far with 3 hits including a 3 run homer Quote
llPa1nll Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Just heard that Clay Buckhowltz was placed on the 15 day DL with a broken finger nail on his pitching hand. I know they did this so they could call up some outfielders cause the Red Sox had their infielder playing Right Field last night. Seriously though 15 days on a DL for a broken finger nail. Would hate to see these guys play on a NFL or NHL team. Quote

Hopefully we'll keep it going through the year! I'll bet ya 2 bags of *** (your choice or mine, depending on who wins.) That the Astros will finish in the top 3 in the NL Central come October. I think we're 2-3 games out of first right now......... Ike 8-) Oh ya,................GO ASTROS!!! Quote
Fish Man Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 the AL east is gonna be tight this year.the Sox and Devil Rays are tied for first while the Jays and the Empire have been dissapionting so far leaving us in the middle. wonder if the O's will finally reach that .500 mark at that end of the season...... a man can dream cant he? ;D Quote

Figured it couldn't hurt to ask. ;D ;D The Astros should go far this year. We lead the Majors ( I think, but at least the NL) in Steals. Berkman is the hottest player in baseball, our bench is AMAZING and our lineup is KILLER!! OUr only weakness is our pitching, btu they've been doing better than most people expected. Ike 8-) Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 19, 2008 Super User Posted May 19, 2008 I would not be surprised if Ned Yost doesn't have a job come Monday. He's probably not going anywhere, yet, but the level the team is playing at, with the talent they have, is totally unacceptable. Quote

Go Lester! Go Tek! Go Sox!!! Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 20, 2008 Super User Posted May 20, 2008 Also need to give credit to a few others, Ellsbury made a heck of a catch. Lugo and Youk also saved a few. Quote
