Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 28, 2008 Super User Posted August 28, 2008 I find it funny that people refer to St. Louis as one of the classiest teams in the majors. : You just now figuring that out? WTH happened anyway? I heard a blurb on XM, didn't get the whole story. Nothing too crazy. Braun got plunked in the 5th. St Louis hates him. Next time he hits a dinger @ Busch, I hope he rounds the bases with his arms out airplane style. Later in the game Villy loaded the bases for the Crew, then got out of it. He pumped his fist a few times and Pujols, who was on-deck, didn't like it one bit. Kendall had to get in-between the two. Again, nothing too crazy. I just laugh at the fact that St. Louis can do what ever they want, and it's all good. But if someone else tries it, it's looked at as showboating and classless. Quote

Super User Tin Posted August 28, 2008 Super User Posted August 28, 2008 That was then, this is now. This Red Sux team doesn't have the magic of previous years. I might have to agree with you there also. I hope not, but the team is missing something right now. Just wait...... Quote

CJ Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 CC is a great pitcher but you can't put him over Webb. I'm throwin' in the towel. The Deadbirds are done. I'm still watchin' though. Pujols is in a great batting title race. I am now rooting for whoever plays the Cubs! Quote

More slop on the field, and another L for the Crew...go figure. The Mets now lead the season series 3-2. Nice catch by Wright to end the ninth. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 3, 2008 Super User Posted September 3, 2008 Sweepola is correct. The first two were gift-wrapped, today's game was an ol' fashioned a$* whuppin'. The supposed thin Mets pitching looked very good. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 3, 2008 Super User Posted September 3, 2008 Hey You guys have a good team, the thin Mets are paper thin in the bull pen. We have Philly this weekend, at home. I hope it's not a replay of last year. I know fans stick by their team, but being a Met's fan since day one, tends to make you a realist, This ain't the 86 club. Even if Wagner comes back we are in trouble. The Brew Crew fell short by not going deep in the count, with all their good hitters I know it's hard. If you want to beat the Mets, you have to be patient and take some pitches, the idea is to get the Mets starters out before the 7th inning. The Phils are very adept at this. I just see this as possible for the Mets to take the East . but I do not see them beating the Cubbies. Lou Pinella learned how to use his pitching and how to expolit the other teams pitching weaknesses from BILLY MARTIN AND ART FOWLER, 2 of the best at that game.As much as i hate giving the Yankees credit for anything, those 2 wrote the book on the subject and Sparky Anderson took it up a notch Quote
RiskKid. Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 As much as i hate giving the Yankees credit for anything, Ahhhhh.....I find joy in this Now I just want a big THANK YOU from BOSOX nation for beating the Rays twice and helping you guys get real close! Quote
