Super User burleytog Posted August 16, 2008 Super User Posted August 16, 2008 .500 on the road! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 The Cards are probably the third or fourth best team in the NL and they're not even going to make the playoffs. Boy, the Mess sure are making a run. Guess old Willie was the problem after all. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Now I am starting to get some hope, we won 2 of the last few games AFTER THE 7th inning, last night in the 9th This was the hallmark of many great teams especially the 86 Amazins 8-) Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 Wow, Marquis and the pen really came through today... Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 25, 2008 Super User Posted August 25, 2008 Eight consecutive series wins, first in the majors to 80 wins, 49 wins at home and a 4.5 game lead in the central with 32 left to play. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 25, 2008 Super User Posted August 25, 2008 Big blow for the Mess today, most likely losing Maine for the rest of the season with shoulder problems. Quote
llPa1nll Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Will Tampa ever lose a game? My Red Sox need to make up some ground already... Quote

I think the Red Sux are a lost cause. I might have to sadly agree with you there Burleyman. But, we've still got a little time left. We've been known to pull miracles before you know. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 26, 2008 Super User Posted August 26, 2008 That was then, this is now. This Red Sux team doesn't have the magic of previous years. Quote
Bass Tard Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 That was then, this is now. This Red Sux team doesn't have the magic of previous years. Bite me! There better off without Manny! Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 27, 2008 Super User Posted August 27, 2008 Their runs scored have dropped since he left. I wonder if he was more of a pain in the butt to his teram or the ownership? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 27, 2008 Super User Posted August 27, 2008 Ramirez hasn't helped the Dodgers either. They have 25 hits over their last two games, but have only scored 2 runs. They stranded 14 last night. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 27, 2008 Super User Posted August 27, 2008 Phillies have excellent pitching, excellent pitching contains good hitting. Plus the LA line up is uneven enough to pitch around thier best hitters right now. Torre is wyley enough to work this out, and Rameirz could be huge these last 30 games. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 27, 2008 Super User Posted August 27, 2008 Dodgers will be lucky to finish at .500 and the Philthies are swoon swoon swooning.... Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 27, 2008 Super User Posted August 27, 2008 Your right about LA, but they could finish under .500 and win that hirrible division. In fact if they don't win the division, they will not have a shot at the wild card. What can happen here is that with the addition of Manny and Torres experience at the helm, they could get ot and make a viable run. The Phillies can benifit from the lack of my Mets no bullpen. Just look, they had 4 complete game wins and then the bull pen blew a 2 game lead after the 7th again. I am a Mets fan, however from years of loosing one gets to be a realist. I still see the Cubs going to the series this year. Pinella should be a shoe in for Manager of the Year! Amd Mr.Manuel of the Mets should get a few votes right behind him. Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 27, 2008 Author Super User Posted August 27, 2008 I'm fixing to throw Manny in the same category as T.O. He was a distraction, but I'll agree that the team hasn't been the same without him. However, was doing no better when he was still a Sox. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 28, 2008 Super User Posted August 28, 2008 I find it funny that people refer to St. Louis as one of the classiest teams in the majors. : Quote
