Super User Tin Posted April 3, 2008 Super User Posted April 3, 2008 Gee: Can you believe it MARTINEZ is hurt again, the Martinez is now as big a bust for the Mets as Hampton turned out to be. I wouldn't want to be seen on the field wearing that jersey with those guys either. Quote
Guest muddy Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 OH YOU MEAN THE TEAM THAT CRUSHED 13 RUNS YESTERDAY, I SUPPOSE THAT WOULD SCARE AN OVERPRICED PITCHER Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 4, 2008 Super User Posted April 4, 2008 FUKUDOME FOR PRESIDENT! And can someone get Prince Fielder a pair of pants that fit AND some Jenny Craig? As long as he belts at least 40 dingers this year, I could care less what he looks like. I don't see him hitting 50 like last year after Yost swapped him and Braun in the order.....but who cares, now a manager has to think twice about walking the big man. If a team does they'll have Braun to face. That switched worked immensely in the very first game of the season. I know were only one series in, but I'm not to worried about Fukedome. Monday he had a great game because no one knew how to pitch to him, as he changed the approach he used all spring. Wed he went 0-3 with 2 K's, and today his only hit was misplayed by a rookie leftfielder, and add more K to his total. I guess anything to get you poor cubs fans going. Quote
RiskKid. Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Dang Muddy....we could have gone all season without seeing that!!! Quote
Guest muddy Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 i FIGURED A LITTLE EARLY SEASON WISE CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 4, 2008 Super User Posted April 4, 2008 Fukudome will be feared by the break. Seriously, Fielder looks like a caricature out there. With those super baggy sultan pants and that huge gut. I hadn't had a chance to watch a game this week until today and I almost fell out of my chair laughing at Fielder. Quote

Guest muddy Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Martinez, the best DL Pitcher in Met's history, is out once agian!!! What a waste of money. The good part about this MAINE; He is poised to become the Met's number 2 guy in the rotation. If hecarries over his spring performance into the season this can be a good thing for the Mets Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 5, 2008 Super User Posted April 5, 2008 The Crew opened up their season @ Miller Park today with a 13-4 crushing of the Giants. Billy Hall had two tape measure shots. I couldn't get off work. > This is only the third home opener I've missed since the early 90's. I can't complain too much though, as I am going to the game tomorrow with a bachelor party. We have a big coach bus, a ton of beverages and grub, and about 45 rowdy guys...It should be a blast. Quote
Masshole Mike Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 i just got home from toronto, my brother and i went up yesterday to watch the sox play the jays. didn't realize it was the jay's home opener so us sox fans were a little outmatched. the sox lost so of course we didn't hear the end of it until we got back to our hotel. i still want to see a replay of the game, there was one play in the 5th or 6th that i swear got so f'ed up by the umps that it changed the outcome of the game. i could be wrong but from where i was sitting ellsbury caught a fly ball in centerfield, frank thomas was on 3rd already running for home and never tagged up but they counted his run, as well as letting the runner on first advance to second without tagging up and the batter to be called safe on first. francona was on the field along with all 9 of the sox players pleading their case but the umps didn't budge. oh well, it's only one game. off to another world series ring! *edit* guess ellsbury dropped the ball when he hit the outfield wall... http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080405&content_id=2494357&vkey=news_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos Quote

Guest muddy Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Thats what I wrote when we got Santana, we had to sign him I guess. But last year the Mets lost most of their games after the 8 th inning! Maine still threw some strikes, but despit what he says, the rain out and the extra 2 days rest may have hurt him. Last year he went 15 and 10, I think he can move 3 more games out of the l coloum and into the W coloum, it is still too early to give an assesment. I wonder why Willie didn't use Wagner? Quote
Fish Man Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 i was looking forward to seeing Bedard pitching against the O's but i guess ill have to wait Quote
Guest muddy Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Double header of bad news for Met's Fans 1. We lost to the Braves again 3 to 1 2. NY Papers saying Wells headed our way :-[ Quote
