Siebert Outdoors Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 What I dont understand is companies jacked up prices accordingly to the high gas prices and metals prices. Now the bottom has fell out and no one has lowered their prices. :-? Exactly what don't you understand? : Oh I really understand it but just frustrates me. So RW, you think by end of the year it will be in the 20's Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 19, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 19, 2008 No. The current contract (January) expires today and February is $4-$5 higher. So, all things being equal, Monday's quotes will appear to spike. There seems to be some support at $35 and much more at $30. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 19, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 19, 2008 WOO-HOO! The January contract is closed: $33.87 In earlier trading, a 5 yr low of: $32.40 Quote

Pond-Pro Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I'll give you ten to one that the airlines don't remove the checked bag fees Ha ha, your probably right! Overall though, low oil prices will eventually cause deflation. However, I'm not getting too excited yet because oil will probably start going back up in the new year. I hope not though!! Quote
Troutfisher Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Maaaaan. It's still $1.79 around here. We're really getting ripped off on the barrel of oil to gallon of gas ratio. Quote

Gas is also down to less than 89 cents a gallon! 8-) Quote
rondef Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 We were at 1:36 per gallon but now it is almost 1.50 a gallon, my guess is they raised it to make money from the holiday travelers. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 we are still real high on gas. Some reason it wont fall below 1.45 here. Quote

I guess... There doesn't seem to be much logic in retail pricing, but I'm sure we're being ripped off! Quote
