drmnbig Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I don't have the best performing computer on earth and I can really appreciate the speed each page loads now. I'm really beginning to like this place. I've been on several sites and this one has impressed me much more than any of the others. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Thanks, Glenn. Appreciate all you do for us to have this great site. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 11, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 11, 2008 Ok, I have confirmed the page refreshing issue. This "page jump" also causes the back button to not work (only when it does it). I am working on a solution. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 If you see any weirdness, please first refresh your browser. I did that. But Muddy's still here. Like bad acne Quote
Jake. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Ok, I have confirmed the page refreshing issue. This "page jump" also causes the back button to not work (only when it does it). I am working on a solution. Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks Glenn. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 11, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 11, 2008 I did not get a birthday greeting yesterday. Are you sure that feature is working? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 12, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 12, 2008 The refresh issue is resolved. I'm working on the birthday question... Soo.... Happy Belated Birtday! Quote
Bassboss Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I downloaded IE7 and restarted but the "new" bars are still blue and the internet automatically refreshes every time I view a different page. Any ideas how to fix it? They are blue at the computers at school too. The computers at school have XP, we have vista at home, I think it may have something to do wit that also. Just a guess Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 12, 2008 Super User Posted December 12, 2008 the cheesy smiley now has rolley eyes! w00t! :D Quote
Bassboss Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Those are some sweet updates. Thanks I like the new, slightly different smileys too, especially this one Ya, I don't however like this one as much . Quote

Just a guess No, it has absolutely nothing to do with your operating system. You're using IE6, that's why. BTW - the blue "new" bars are now a dark red for everybody. That issue is resolved regardless of browser. Again, and I reiterate, first hit F5. Everyone reading this, just do it. Seriously - the problems people are seeing are because of a clash between cached files and the new ones. Hitting F5 "blows out" the old stuff, thus fixing most problems (except the blue headers). Then, if you're using IE6, upgrade to IE7 or Firefox. The blue headers will go away. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 12, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 12, 2008 The "View all sponsors" links take me to a page with only 1 sponsor, cyclone. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 12, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 12, 2008 Regarding the birthday greeting: Where your header normally says 'Good Morning FishinDaddy' it will be replaced with 'Happy Birthday FishinDaddy'. Try it here! Edit your profile to today's date and it will change as soon as you press save. Of course, a fanfare of a thousands trumpets, semi-naked dancers at your door and a telephone call from the boss to say have the day off would be better, but I believe that will only be available in the next version. As for the advertisers page, turn off your anti-virus software (specifically the ****) and then go back to the page. I'm not sure why people install ad blockers, as they obviously prevent you from seeing things you want to see, plus they give unpredictable results on websites. Not very useful if you ask me. Besides, ads are NOT viruses! Quote
Zel Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Well, broke down and got a new computer (no more Win95 & Win98 for me) Windows Vista downgraded to XP for a mere $99 (if that isn't a racket, I don't know what is). And upgraded the Internet Explorer from 6 to 7. Now the posts at BR are a washed out dark grayish color, and it seems parts of the letters in the words are almost missing. Sort of like reading the site with half a bag on. Oh well if its not one thing its another. Other than that though the changes I've noticed seem pretty good. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 12, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 12, 2008 Thanks Glenn. Turning off the **** fixed it. You can keep the trumpets and the phone call but I will be looking forward to the semi naked dancers last year. (as long as it is not muddy) Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 14, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 14, 2008 Sorry Zel, I haven't heard of that one before. Sounds like an issue with your computer - more than just your browser. I don't know what would cause that. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 16, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 16, 2008 I've heard from a few members that they get a "banned" message when they try to post or PM. This a result of old files from the previous design that have been downloaded to your computer conflicting with the new files from the redesign. If this is happening to you, please close all browser windows except one, clear out your cache and cookies, close that browser window (all browsers should be shut down now), and start again. Even better if you reboot your computer after clearing everything out. That should solve the problem. Quote
