Super User fishfordollars Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 Catt, that is how ours started. Our news is reporting moderate to heavy snow showers just north of the Beaumont area so ya'll are probably due for our mess today. Quote
drmnbig Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 And to think it was in the 60's here in the mountains of Va yesterday. Calling for heavy rain today and snow showers tonight though. Quote
Daniel A. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 We've got a nice blanket at the house. When my wife woke up, she called me and very excitedly told me "IT'S SNOWING!!" Yep, it is...since around 4:00 A.M. ;D If she takes some pics, I'll post them later. I strongly dislike the snow... Quote

Daniel A. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Here's why I dislike the snow. From the National Weather Service: "MANY ACCIDENTS WERE STATE POLICE THIS MORNING IN THE BATON ROUGE AND THIS THREAT WILL SPREAD EAST." What threat? The threat of people not knowing how to drive? :-? LOOK OUT THOSE IN THE EAST!!! A large swarm of poor drivers will be heading your way. ;D Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 Daniel, Louisiana drivers are bad in good weather. So how do you think they will do in the snow and ice???? ;D ;D ;D Quote
Bassboss Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 wwwwooooo!! Dude, what's that white stuff on you car? Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 11, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 11, 2008 It's funny (in an odd sort of way) that we haven't had any snow yet up in my neck of the woods. It seems this time last year we already had several bouts of it. That said, this weekend we're supposed see temps drop into the low 20's with a possible threat of light snow. Maybe the season is just starting a little late this year. Quote

Our 5+ inches yesterday is probably more than a lot of areas up north have for the year. Go figure. Yesterday tied a record for the earliest snowfall in Houston. 12-10-1944 is the earliest day for snowfall in our area. Looked up the 24 hour record for Houston snowfall and it surprised me. It was over 20 inches back early in the century. It is low 50s with 20mph winds now and the snow is gone. Quote
atx_newbie Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 The weather records always surprise me. Everytime I experience a pretty extreme bit of weather, I look up the record and realize that what I just experienced was nothing compared to the record. Although we had 18" of rain in 6 hours last summer, and I feel like that has to be a record, at least for central Texas. Quote
