Super User Muddy Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 Hey Mike: I , as a card holding member of TEAM DEPENDS am appalled by the flagrant trampling of your rights .as a senior member by having Glenn replace your services with a spell check. WHO knows what our evil leader has planned for the rest of us. It is time to hire an attorney Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 It wasn't installed to replace Mike, it was installed because his cry was heard, we felt his pain. Besides, now we can watch him REALLY steam when people STILL post words spelt wrong, lol. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 Glenn, this is outright age discrimination! I feel that you are trying to get rid of me just because I can spell, use pronunciation and know how to capitalize the first word of a sentence. Your spell-checker will save many, but I will still be lurking. Beware, those of you too lazy to capitalize the word "I" Quote
Super User cart7t Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 i runt dis threw the spel cheker an it came out purty good hope mike lieks it i think it wurks reel gud Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 Tin, that comma is actually not needed. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 How so? With two items or less you don't need one before the "and", if there are more than two you should. Edit: http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/commas.htm Agree to disagree Hookem? Quote

Placing a comma before the word "and" is new school. Both ways are grammatically correct. Quote
atx_newbie Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I was taught to put the comma before the "and," and I think it works better that way. As a reader, it is easier to identifiy that you are reading a list. Quote
Bassboss Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Ya know, I could probably just post in the thread and fit in fine with all of this huba buba. Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 12, 2008 Super User Posted December 12, 2008 That's just what my English teacher taught us. I ALWAYS used a comma before "and", but she told us that it was incorrect. Quote
