paul. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 don't know if there's any niner fans out there besides myself. but anyway the team's transformation since singletary took over has been pretty impressive to me. granted, they still have work to do before becoming a serious contender, but thus far he's got my vote to keep the job. he seems to have an uncanny ability to light a fire under the players and get the most from what is a pretty mediocre (at best) team right now. there are several guys coaching in the nfl that are doing less with more. Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 11, 2008 Super User Posted December 11, 2008 I believe he has potential to develope into a good head coach as long as he keeps his pants on. Quote
Daniel A. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I think he has huge head coach potential, but I hate the fact that his first opportunity is with a struggling 49ers group. At this point, I think he's doing a great job. As Bass-Brat mentioned, he must keep his pants on. Quote
bmadd Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I was real impressed with him when he jumped down Vernon Davis' throat in front of everybody. He needed that and that showed that he would be a coach who wouldn't put up with egos. Guys like that seem to do a lot better jobs than those who let their players mouth off all the time. I hope he gets to stick around and actually get an offseason to get his schemes and ideas into his players heads. Quote
paul. Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 you're right bud. coughlin in ny used to be ripped cause he was too strict and rigid. now look at the giants. won the superbowl and are going to the playoffs again this year. as far as vernon davis goes, i just hope that someday the guy can live up to his potential. better yet, i wish he was as good in real life as he is in madden '09. even though the niners are a bad team overall on there, davis is a beast and a huge weapon. linebackers cannot cover him and he runs over db's. and the madden version does not get stupid penalties. yeah, i'd like to see the madden version on the real life team. ;D Quote
bmadd Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Haha, He was a stud at Maryland. I think if he can go into the locker room and find the big boy pants and walk out on the field a little more grown up then he would definitely be on of the top tight ends in the league. If they could just get a few more play makers then they would be a solid contender in their division. Someone stable and reliable at QB, a healthy Frank Gore and somebody else to accompany Patrick on the Defensive side and they would be a good team. Almost Madden-like Quote
