Siebert Outdoors Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 No Just sometimes dont know where to put all the stuff. Quote
Infidel. Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 No, I used to lie about how much stuff cost but then I told the truth one time and she didn't seem to mind at all. Problem is that I buy her better tackle than I buy myself, that must be why she doesn't mind Quote
IDbasser Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 all the time from the wife. She for some reason thinks that I have plenty of stuff already. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 My wife could care less. I spent over 450.00 on a new goretex suit last month. Brought it home and dumped it on the dining room table. She said let that be your birthday present. Spent 88.00 at BPS today. She is out of town, but I told her when she called. She flies out on Monday and returns on Thursday. As long as I stay out of places I should not go, she is fine with me spending on fishing. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 When HASN'T the bait monkey got you in trouble ? But then again, the bait monkey is married to the shoe monkey..... Works both ways. Quote

[/quote Fishfordollars and I are kindred spirits. My wife could care less, but I always let her know when I've spent, or am about to spend, say a couple of hundred dollars. She does the same - sometimes. Quote
Super User flechero Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 No problems at my house... a few funny looks and head shakes though. ...lol We get "fun money" every month to be spent or saved as each sees fit. I guess it's the adult version of allowance. I was thrifty for a couple years early on and now have a healthy bank account to support any tackle and trips I want. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 I get yelled at.... :-[ Quote

Super User Sam Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 Of course. But my wife knows that bass fishing is my only vice so she lets me alone. Once upon a time we drove to the Hampton, Virgina Bass Pro Shop to hear a seminar by a local guide and during the Q&A session my wife asked, "How many rods does a guy really need?" Lots of laughs from the audience and it actually stopped the guide (presenter) in his tracks. Stumped the poor guy. No one ever did answer the question. So she does her sewing and I leave her alone and in return I do my bass fishing and she leaves me alone. And she gives me fishing stuff for my birthday, wedding anniversary and Christmas every year. With some suggestions from me, of course. Quote
Daniel A. Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 My wife and the Bait Monkey work together. ;D I'm VERY lucky. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 My wife takes me to BPS and Academy for Christmas. We have a limit set, I purchase, she pays, I wrap when we get home, and then I open it when it is time. Then we go to Macys for her. Quote
Bassboss Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 all the time from the wife. She for some reason thinks that I have plenty of stuff already. I get the same thing from my mom and grandma? Quote

Skunked in DR Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 All the time. She seems to believe that one rod and reel is all I need/ever will need. Worst part (for her) is getting back into fishing was her idea. Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 Not at all. My wife knows fishing is the only thing I do. She will actually ask me if I want to go to BPS. She also knows if she complained, I would remind her of her shoe and purse fetish. Falcon Quote
key chain bass guy Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Not yet. However, my wife is taking my three year old to see a stage production of Wizard of Oz this Sunday in Foxborough, which just happens to have a BPS. So I will drive them down there and then kill two hours in BPS. How much money do you think I can spend on myself two weeks before Christmas without getting in trouble? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted December 10, 2008 Super User Posted December 10, 2008 Isn't it funny when you read the title of a thread and know instantly who started it. : What is the word "thas"? What do it mean Bubba? Quote
mrbassky Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Someone stole my card # when I made an online purchase. Does that count. Quote
