Oklahoma just defeated Mizzou. In doing so, they scored 60 or more points in five consecutive games. The first team in history to do so.  Oklahoma has now EARNED the right to play Florida for the National Championship. Sorry about that Texas. Maybe next year.

Agreed. However I believe they were better than Texas all along. Even my gym teacher who is a huge Longhorns fan said he felt that Oklahoma was the better team. He says that if the tie breaker had been anything like a highschool tiebreaker that he says he likes instead of the BCS then it would have been based on point differential betweent the three teams in which Oklahoma was the better team. Either way get ready for one hell of a football game

It was a good, convincing win, but I don't think that will make Texas fans any happier.  I think it would be an easier pill to swallow if Texas had fallen below OU in the polls after losing to TT rather than being ahead right up until the last weekend.  Particularly when they got jumped in the polls after beating A&M by 40 points.

I know that if the situation were reversed, the vast majority of OU fans would be saying the same thing UT fans are saying now.  I know I would, and I'm not that fanatical.

However, even if the situation were reversed, and UT were going to Miami, I would still be rooting for them as the Big 12 team.  I hope most Texas fans can do the same.

SMSgt_C , That is exactly how I feel. I'm A Sooner living in Texas who has always been a Horns and Red Raiders fan, But when the line is drawn I bleed crimson and cream. This has been one of the most exciting and disappointing seasons in years. I love it and hope for a similar season next year. The hardest part has been dealing with the fans lately and I do see their point, some just have a hard time understanding that someone can have a soft spot or even favor their biggest rivals. These Teams don't play each other all season and although I do miss my home north of the Red River I do love Texas.

"Oh"one more thing....  Can we please keep the scooner off the Field!

OU averaged 44 points a game last year and how did that work out against West Virginia.   48-28 loss.

They averaged 48 points a game when they lost to KSU in the Big XII championship game 35-7 and how did that work out against LSU?

Fact is, TExas beat them 45-35 and held them under that record setting  average of 54 points as well.

Does Texas have a beef?   Well, Florida lost to unranked team at home.

Texas lost to top 10 team on the road after 3 consecutive wins against top 10 teams.    No other top 10 team had a schedule that tough.

The one thing i have noticed is that many people seem to forget that it was a three way tie not a 2 way tie between Texas and Oklahoma

Congratulations OU fans!

I hated the whooping you put on my Tigers last night,

but now I'm a fan! I'm sure your guys will represent the

conference well. I'm looking for a lot of Big XII wins in

the bowl games.

Good luck to all.

Should be a great game no doubt.

Hope it is a classic game.

Either team will join LSU with two BCS titles.

Will be nice to hear "SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC" changed by the Gators at the end of the game.

OU should give Tibow fits but the Gators should light up the scorebaord.

SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC  ;)

Yep, go Gators, go SEC.  I think Florida will win this one.  If there is a team out there that could have beaten Florida, it was Bama.  And they almost did.  But it just shows that the spread, when run well with good talent, is the best offensive scheme in college football right now.  And Oklahoma can't stop it.

Florida 5th

Passing defense

Oklahoma 112th

Florida 31st

Rushing defense

Oklahoma 18th

Florida 17th

Int

Oklahoma 17 TDs 0

Florida 24 TDs 5

I am excited to watch this game. I wish they could have had a Texas vs. Alabama game also. What a punch in the nuts it must be for Alabama..to have a season like theirs and end up playing Utah? ugh.

Yeah, I think that is the part of the BCS that needs the overhaul the most. The four BCS bowls (Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, and Rose) need to get rid of their attachments to particular conferences, and pick in order of the BCS ranking.

For instance, this year, the Orange Bowl is hosting Virginia Tech (automatic because of winning in the ACC) and Cincy (automatic because of winning the Big East). Neither of those teams are ranked in the BCS top 10. So instead of 11-1 Texas Tech getting to play in a BCS bowl, it's 11-2 Cincy versus 10-3 (i think) VT. That's wrong.

Same with the Rose Bowl. Okay, so it's tradition, big deal. Oregon State, who isn't even ranked, was one win away from playing in a BCS bowl, while teams like Boise State, Ball State, and TCU will miss the boat on the BCS. Granted, historically the winner of the Pac-10 and winner of the Big-10 were among the best in the nation any given year, but that is not the case anymore.

Using the top-10 BCS rankings, this is how the BCS bowls should be.

Rose Bowl:  #10 Ohio State vs. #9 Boise State

Sugar Bowl:  #8 Penn State vs. #7 Texas Tech

Orange Bowl:  #6 Utah vs. #5 USC

Fiesta Bowl:  #4 Bama vs. #3 Texas

Nat'l Champ:  #2 Florida vs. #1 Oklahoma.

This is not arguing the rankings--I used the final rankings, which I feel are fairly accurate.  And if you feel like one bowl is more prestigious, the bowls I listed are interchangeable, but you see the concept.

Once the BCS system was developed, those bowls should not be allowed to keep there conference tie-ins.

You're right about Ball State.  They did just lose their conference championship, after all.  I'm just so used to hearing their name mentioned all season in conjunction with Utah and Boise.

It's impossible to predict this game. The two teams play two completely different styles of football. It should be fun to watch. I do hope my gators win.

Ta ta ta ta ra .. GATOR BAIT!

First prediction:

OU 98

Fla 97

7 OTs

I have trouble trying to decide if I am watching the football scores on the ticker or basketball scores. Bring back a little defense please...

You Texas fans are so ignorant.  98-97 in 7 OTs is an impossible score. ::)  What do you Texas folks know about football?

Oh yea, and GO PIRATES!!! ;D

atx_newbie while I agree with your bowl choices you fail to understand how embarrassing it would be for Ohio State to lose to Boise State or USC to lose to Utah. This is one reason I don't think there will be a playoff system just look at this year if we picked the top 8 BCS ranked teams there would be 3 Big 12 teams & 2 SEC teams leaving 3 openings for the other conferences. Notre Dame is in a bowl game and they are 6-6 playing against a Hawaii team that's 7-6; any team that has more than 2 loses don't need to be in a bowl game not even my LSU Tigers.

It's all about money  ;)
