Super User Micro Posted December 4, 2008 Super User Posted December 4, 2008 I'm trying to figure out if there is any software or any other way to clean up a sound file that has a lot of "noise" in it. This is the file I am interested in clarifying: http://www.2ndbattalion94thartillery.com/Chas/GioLinh2.rm You can barely make out what's going on and I'd like to clean it up, if at all possible, so it can be heard more clearly. I know this may be way out of my capability. Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 4, 2008 Super User Posted December 4, 2008 I messed around with Adobe Audition a little in the past. It might be useful. Quote
huskertko Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Soundforge http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/soundforge Glenn, can this be used to clean up the audio on a video recording as well? I have to video that has some noise from the camera that I would like to clean up. Quote

Super User Micro Posted December 5, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 5, 2008 I ran the "restoration" feature and it did clean it up a little. But I think the audio quality may be so far gone it can't be cleaned up but so much. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted December 5, 2008 Super User Posted December 5, 2008 Try and find Cool Edit 2000 or a later version. It's an absolutely amazing audio editing program. Quote
