=Matt 5.0= Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 For the cost of the car, I'm surprised there isn't one in there. I never paid attention to the one we had at the shop. When I was in Bradenton (FL) at Heffner's Performance, they were putting twin turbos on one. Jason and his crew build some sick cars down there. 8-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VGrgSCX1co Heffner made a name for himself by building the fastest Viper on the planet. They also built some sick Lambos. The Orange one was all apart when I was down there. This should get ya going Robert! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3YGe8EvBq8&feature=related Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 29, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 29, 2008 Heffner builds some amazing vehicles for sure. He built a twin turbo Gallardo for my friend Eric. According to Eric, it's so fast it's scary. I honestly have no desire (right now) for another exotic car. They just don't do it for me anymore. I get more excited about modding a reel now. ;D Quote
Super User cart7t Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 Sorry, having worked on many, many, many Mustangs at the Mustang shop over the years, I must admit that those old 60's cars are garbage. Slow, heavy, and don't handle worth a crap. Just my opinion from behind the wheel. You're correct to a degree if you compare them to today's cars. Remember though, there's 40 years worth of technology advances that make todays cars what they are. The 60's early 70's muscle cars Detroit was turning out did what they were designed to do. Go very fast in a straight line. There were some sportier versions of cars back then that took technology from the old Trans Am racing series and incorporated it into special edition cars like the Shelby 350's and 500's, the old AMC AMX, some one off edition Camero's, etc. . Driving performance, as far as how well a car could turn left or right, was largely ignored though. Passenger cars were basically road boats designed for safety and marshmellow rides and the muscle was meant to win at the drag strip. Quote
