IDbasser Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I have a couple of turkeys on the smoker. I can't wait for a smoked turkey sandwich on a fresh cooked roll with cranberry sauce. Quote
Bassboss Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 We are planing to make one out of a some pipes, 2 tin garbage cans, and some grilling racks, for Christmas, to cook the pig or goose on. You have any special rub, that you put on the turkey that you would like to share? Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted November 26, 2008 Super User Posted November 26, 2008 I tried smoking a turkey once. I couldn't keep it lit. Ba Da Bum Quote
IDbasser Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 The Turkeys are done!! Just a basic rub, nothing special, but they were injected with a garlic creole marinade. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted November 27, 2008 Super User Posted November 27, 2008 I'll be placing my turkey on the smoker in the morning. Having grown up in Cajun Country I have injected it with a garlic/onion/secret ingredient mixture. The turkey will be soaking in a red wine and spice mixture overnight. Tomorrow it will go on the mesquite-fired smoker. I'm already getting hungry. Quote
IDbasser Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 I have already had turkey sandwiches from it. ;D Will be going to the in-laws tomorrow to eat, I'm making sage dressing in the AM, and I have sweet potatoe pies cooling right now. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 27, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 27, 2008 Awesome stuff gents! Those turkeys sure look good! We're having smoked turkey as well. Can't wait! Quote
