moby bass Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Still 2.659 here in Pennsylvania, land of taxes Quote
Troutfisher Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 $2.59 here, and $1.97 in Columbus, where I just got back from. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 3, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 3, 2008 Oil is opening at $65.93. Local posted prices in the Memphis area range from $1.99 to $2.29, $2.12 appears to be "typical". Yesterday, with a Schnucks discount, I topped-off my daughter's car for $15, $1.24 per gallon! 8-) Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 4, 2008 Super User Posted November 4, 2008 It went back up from 1.89 yesterday to 1.99 here today. Quote
Troutfisher Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 er It went back up from 1.89 yesterday to 1.99 here today. Went up to $1.99? Send it here, it's $2.49 here! Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted November 4, 2008 Super User Posted November 4, 2008 Broke the $2 mark here today ... $1.99. I honestly kind of wish it would just settle around $2. I think it's fair considering the alternatives. I am in absolute fear of the "adjustments" if it gets "too low". Quote
Brian_Reeves Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 2.05 here is Jackson, MS. 2.35 at home in Baton Rouge, LA. It can be found around 2.25 at some places, but 2.35 is the average price. Probably gonna go down a bit more. I'm thinking it will hold up at the 2.00 mark. Who knows though. I don't care as long as it stays below 3.00 a gallon Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted November 4, 2008 Super User Posted November 4, 2008 $1.899 here in Tulsa this morning. I tanked up my Suburban for only $54.00. That's MUCH better than $100+ that I was paying a few weeks ago Quote
basser89 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Still holding around $2.45-$2.55 around my house. Down where I work, the price was $2.32. I work around 25 miles or so from DC and typically the gas prices usually run at least $0.10 higher then near home (40 miles away). Go figure. :-? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 4, 2008 Super User Posted November 4, 2008 1.99 in the Akron area. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 6, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 6, 2008 $60.36 this morning. We might test $60 resistance today. Local retail prices in the Memphis area ranges from $1.99 to $2.15. 8-) Quote
basser89 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Still have a weird range of prices here in MD around me. Around my place, it's ranging from $2.37-$2.49, around work, $2.32-$2.39 and half way between work and home I've found it as low as $2.19. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 6, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 6, 2008 'bout time, huh? We should be at the low end of the range ($1.75-$2.25). $1.99 seems like a bargin, but we're still getting gigged! 8-) Quote
atx_newbie Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Two days ago, on my way home from work, I saw a Sam's with gas at $1.93. I thought about stopping, but was in a hurry to get home and watch the election coverage. Then when I filled up the next day, it was at $2.01. Still a good price comparatively, but I wish I had gotten it at the 8 cents cheaper price. What I'm wondering now is this: Prices of just about everything (beer, food, air travel--including those rediculous check baggage fees) went up because of gas prices. So will those increases and adjustments go back down? Doubt it! Quote
IMPY03 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I filled up at a sheetz here in Danville last night and it was $2.19. It may be cheaper at other stores around town but I was in a hurry, still a decent amount of financial relief though. Can't wait to see it get down to $0.99 again ;D Quote

Not to get off topic but how low is the stock market going to get? It looked like it was going to stabilize and head back up but after Nov 4 its going down. I'm thinking 7500 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 6, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 6, 2008 Well, with a Schnucks discount card, I paid $1.24 last weekend. $0.99 is quite possible. Regarding the DJIA, it will depend on the length and severity of the pending recession. If a broad section of investors begin another panic, something around 5000 is possible. I suspect we flirt with 7000 and find some support either side of 7500. Although no one can really know where this bottoms out, I don't think we have seen it yet. Real estate shows no signs of coming back, although bottom- feeders are picking off forclosures for less than fifty cents on the dollar. The auto sector is insolvent and will either be nationalized or fail. Airlines consistantly teeter on the brink of bankruptcy and the financial companies/ banks will require additional bailout monies. As the snowball rolls downhill, it grows in size and picks up velocity. Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Troutfisher, Your state may have higher taxes then TN. I know here in MO I can drive across the river to IL and pay about 20-30 cents more. Its all tax in that 5 miles. Quote
