Dow at the moment is -200 again, this is serious business "my friends" Might not necessarily work. Demand is down and falling. I remember when gas was 20 or 25 cents per gallon. But I was only making $1 to $1.25 per hour. I still had to work for 4 hours to fill my tank. At $3.00 a gallon, its not much different. I used to pull into a station and fill my motorcycle with high test........and get change back from my dollar. ;D Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 9, 2008 Super User Posted October 9, 2008 Gas is now 3.19 There are rumors that it might drop under $3 tonight. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 10, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 10, 2008 $79.46 at 8:26 CDT 8-) Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I have to give it to you RW. When gas prices were at their highest you started this thread, and there were many doubters. Although I had my doubts, I believed you and really hoped you were right. Based on the info in this thread, I bet my friend $20 that gas prices would be below $3.00 by the end of this year, and it looks pretty good for me now 8-) Do you think that OPEC will be able to counter this drop at all? Apparently they're about to hold an emergency meeting... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 10, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 10, 2008 Gas was $2.99 at some stations in Memphis this morning. It should be cheaper tomorrow! 8-) Quote
moby bass Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 At noon, the price of a barrel is about to break through the $80 floor. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 10, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 10, 2008 Huh? Oil traded $79.39 forty-five minutes ago (noon EDT). Although oil, like all commodities, will continue to be VERY volatile, the $80 "floor" will soon be the top of the range. Currently $79.55 8-) Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I just saw that too. WOOHOO. I also saw gasoline futures plumited 15 cents a gal. Quote
