Is it just me or is it just brutal to watch a game on?

I can't put my finger on it, but it's just so different (in a bad way) then watching a game on FOX, CBS, ESPN, or NBC.

The audio was horrible.  Aside from the dramatic audio fluctuations, you didn't hear the crowd noise like you do on other broadcasts. (except when they cheered)

Also, there weren't a lot of graphics, no fancy intros or breaks to commercials, and the announcers were bland.

Pretty much plain bread and butter broadcasting.

Couldn't tell you, but there are a lot of p*ssed of New Englanders that couldn't watch the game. Last time politicians got involved so we could watch the Pats go undefeated, but not this time

We're all just spoiled though.

Well, I have been an NFL fan for a few decades and think their business model is the best in all of professional sports (revenue sharing, team salary caps, etc.). However, it's not all "free enterprise".

We the taxpayer, fans or not, pay a healthy price to build stadiums and infrastructure for these facilities. I'm not complaining, at least in this thread, about the cost of tickets, seat fees or $6 beers. This is about the NFL Network restricting access to the public. I think this stinks!

Amen RW!

I live in upstate NY and couldn't watch my beloved Jets beat the Pats.

The cable company says to blame the NFL Network, the NFL Network says to blame the cable company. You know what I blame both of them, they should have come to some agreement a long time ago instead of letting us spin in the wind and miss our favorite games.

Around here, when the Cowboys (not a fan) play on NFL, a local (UHF-type) channel is allowed to broadcast it as well.  If you don't have cable, you could see it on antenna or a local cable operator that might not have NFL.  It still didn't fix the entire problem outside of the DFW area, but was somewhat better for local residents.  Still, as big as the NFL is, you'd expect them to get their game shown to a larger audience (surely they'd want to and sell their ads for more $$$).

well said. thank god my hurricanes were on so i did not have to suffer through that mediocre (at best) commentary. you would think if ANY body would get it right it would be the nfl channel. the way they broadcast, the nfl will stand for not for long if they keep that crap up.

I'm in Time-Warner territory so we don't have it. I'm really surprised because three or four years ago I was sure that TW and NFL would reach an agreement within a year.

It'll be interesting to see who blinks first, if someone does.

As bad as the TV broadcast is, the radio broadcast made my ears bleed.  Dennis Green shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a broadcast booth.
