bigmountaineer Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I was just needing some help on fishing these. I know how to rig them backwards with the skirt up, but what fishing situations are ideal. What do these excel in? I fish a lot of ponds and small lakes, hopefully these will do good in those. Any help is appreciated. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 5, 2008 Super User Posted June 5, 2008 Fish the Fat Ika as an alternative to the Senko in exactly the same places: relatively shallow water (<12'); in and around cover or structure; anywhere you think bass might live. 8-) Quote
Davis Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Along weedlines, flooded timber, parallel to shore. Fish them like a jig. No weight. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted June 5, 2008 Super User Posted June 5, 2008 No weight. But they also work with a 1/8oz. weight. Rigged backwards or normal. I also use them as jig trailer. Quote
Jeff C. Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 nice fish.... I also prefer 1/16 or 1/8 oz.. bullet sinker.. Quote
BigBrotherThunda Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 agreed 100% with RW! i have success as well with them pegged on a t-rig to flip heavy cover b/c of the thick body and fall rate. Quote
TournyFish001 Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 So far in my part of the country I have had little luck with them. A senko or tube seem to work better in a situation where I would use an Ika- they are re-located to my river bag- up here in the river they always bite no matter what the bait is. Quote
