the captain Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I know we have all been impacted by the high gas prices lately but it seems that the price is decreasing at a rather fast rate. the beginning of the week it was somewhere like 3.49 for a gallon of regular it is now 2.89 for regular. We have seen gas prices under 3.00 by christmas, i am rather suprised to see this. But it has happened and it is fine with me if they keep falling. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 It just went down under $3 last night here in Harrisonburg, VA. Quote
bassdocktor Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I've seen between $3.50-3.69 here in Chicago. But, I'm sure its alot more downtown in the heart of the city. Quote

Bassboss Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 As of Saturday it was 3.55, but about a month ago it was 4.31 as I recall!! Let's hope it keeps going down Quote
Fisher of Men Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 We took a last minute trip to Southeastern OK Friday night (Beaver's Bend State Park north of Broken Bow, OK). Our local gas price was 3.29 a gallon. I got to Gainesville, Texas to see 2.67, then in Antlers, OK for 2.48. Needless to say, I stopped and filled up with the 2.48 on the return trip Saturday night. I still can't figure out why there is a 62 cent price difference by driving into the next county. I can see the differences across state boundaries due to fuel taxes, etc., but all I see in my county is gouging. To my knowlege there is one main supplier to most of our stations, except for Murphy USA, and why would they go any lower than they have to. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 Down the street, it's $3.09. Near my wife's office, it's $2.79. Falcon Quote
