Super User Catt Posted November 10, 2008 Super User Posted November 10, 2008 I know this is a day early but this was sent to me & I had to share this with y'all Joseph Ambrose, an 86-year-old World War I veteran, attends the dedication day parade for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. He is holding the flag that covered the casket of his son, who was killed in the Korean War. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 10, 2008 Super User Posted November 10, 2008 Wife and I are heading out this morning to join our American Legion Post 354 guys to put American flags on the graves of our fallen comrads at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia County. The cemetery is a beautful sight with all those flags on the graves. Last night we attended the Richmond Pops Band, featuring the United States Army Choir, for a veterans day concert. It was super. God Bless America. Quote

Super User fishfordollars Posted November 11, 2008 Super User Posted November 11, 2008 I am attending the cermony today. This is one event I refuse to miss. It is pouring down here today so the crowd will probably be smaller. Shame everyone else lets the weather keep them away. The weather never stopped us from our recon duties. Quote
-HAWK- Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 This is what being American is all about right here. Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Salute to all the veterans today, keep up the good work. Quote

Super User senile1 Posted November 12, 2008 Super User Posted November 12, 2008 I didn't get to respond to this on Veteran's Day as I was on the road all day yesterday driving from an upgrade that I just completed in Texas. While driving I was listening to different radio stations giving their salute to veterans everywhere and playing patriotic songs. One station played "Ragged Old Flag" by Johnny Cash. I haven't heard that song in ages, but what an awesome tribute it is to our flag and the men and women who defend what it stands for. Quote
