I just bought the 006 and pro 006 sets.

Are they any good ? Or will they take up a new section of my overstuffed tackle box.

The infomercial looked convincing.

Man, if you will search the site, we have volumes of discussion and

two threads in the last week or so. This is the bottomline as I see it:

Banjo Minnows will produce a few fish when anything else

would have worked better. A very comparable bait that is

easier to use and much less expensive is the Slug-Go (fluke).

Listen closely to the infomercial: it 's the fisherman this and the fisherman that.

The magic is where it always has been, behind the rod handle.

In practical terms any bait will catch fish, it 's a matter of when, where and how what makes it interesting and sometimes difficult.

Yes, I was sucked in by the Banjo Minnow, and haven't caught anything on it! I don't plan on ever using it agian :)

When in doubt , ask your friends at BR. We won't steer you wrong and might save you some money.

As a kid I used to be able to catch bluegill on a bare hook in an overstocked pond.  It worked but I wouldn't recommend it as a proven fish catcher.

Never saw an infomercial that didn't.

Never used a Banjo, but it looks like a soft jerkbait with its erratic movement. I can't see why it wouldn't work like other soft jerkbaits, but I'd buy other brands.

Of the infomercials I've seen for fishing products, the Banjo looks to be less gimmicky than some others.

Thanks for all your replies.

I will definately give them a try.

Hopefully I will catch a nice one during a tourney down here in the swamp of south florida and they will pay for themselves.

If they dont produce, I will give them away to the kids...hey there is always ebay?

Hmm...

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion

from the comments that were made. At any

rate, I wouldn't think you would fish a lure in

a tounament that hadn't proven itself in practice.

I read all the comments and I understand that I probably wasted my money. Since I have these baits now, I will put them to use and find a way to make them payoff...in practice and when it counts.

If I cant catch a damm thing, I will give them away.

Thank you for your honest and thoughtful remarks.

I have caught plenty of fish on them.  I don't use the weedless rubber bands.  I fish them the same way I would fish a soft plastic jerkbait like a sluggo or fin s fish.  I have seen other people catch fish on them too.  I won't buy another set because it's virtually the same thing as a fin s fish but a lot more expensive.  I find I can make the same rig at home using some cheap small springs to take the backbone out of the lure.

They will work yes. Thing is they are pretty much the exact same bait as the zoom super fluke.  Yes they look different but have pretty much the same action. They work just as good as the super fluke i bet...however the super fluke is about 10 times less the amount of money.... Yeah in future just buy super flukes and save some money.
