On Friday night they parked in a public parking area. As they drove away he noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When he took it off after they got home, it was a receipt for gas. Luckily his friend had told him not to stop as it could be someone waiting for them to get out of the car. Then this email was received:

'WARNING FROM POLICE ...BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--NEW W AY TO DO CARJACKING (NOT A JOKE)'

Heads up everyone! ... Husbands, wives, kids, everyone!!!  Please, keep this circulating... You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse.  When you lo ok into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of  your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off.. They practically mow you down as they speed off  in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.  So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands

We had a similar rumor here in New Jersey a few years ago that went like this-

Gang members would purposely drive at night without the headlights on. When a motorist would flash their lights at them to alert them, the gang would turn around and pursue them and either shoot them or carjack them. My policeman neighbor told me it was a BS story.

Best thing to do is be aware of your surroundings. If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts.

thats just stupid!

if gang members wanted to shoot/carjack somebody, why would they have to wait till somebody flahsed them first????

i hate chainletters with a passsion. if anything contains more than one "FWD" in the subject line, it is an insta-delete message.....

I used to know a few guys in gangs who would bump the back of your car like it was an accident down a road that was really empty and very much less traveled. They would car jack and kill the guy/girl as they got out of their cars to trade insurance information.

This was over 12 years ago when not everybody had cell phones yet.
