Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 28, 2008 Super User Posted October 28, 2008 It's too late in the year to be playing baseball , they are going to have to shorten the play-offs some way. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 28, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 28, 2008 Yep, but next year they are extending the playoffs into November! http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8728990/?MSNHPHCP>1=39002 : Quote
pokey Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 They need to cut down on the time in between the divisional series and the championship series. They could probably save a week alone there. Quote

Super User Raul Posted October 28, 2008 Super User Posted October 28, 2008 Now, that can be solved easily ----> move the remaining games to Florida !. Quote
atx_newbie Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 This reminds me of a joke that my dad is fond of telling: Little Johnny the second grader came home from school one day and asked, "Dad, what is Groundhog Day?" The dad thought for a moment then said, "Well, Son, in Poxatawny (sp) Pennsylvania there's this groundhog, named Phil. And every year, on the same day, he comes out of his hole from hibernating." Johnny says: "So why is that a big deal. Groundhogs, squirrells, and bears all come out after hibernating. What makes Phil so special?" The dad laughs and answers: "Because if Phil sees his shadow, then we will have 6 more weeks of basketball" Quote

tipptruck1 Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 I could care less if baseball season is cut in half. But the NBA, NHL, and MLB Don't need a month or two of playoffs. I only watch baseball from june to september. Hockey and racing in the spring and if racing gets in the way durning the summer. Then football in the fall. But I have heard the nfl wants to play pre season games in spring. COme on I only need football 6 months a year. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted October 29, 2008 Super User Posted October 29, 2008 Why would you promote this? I wouldn't promote it, it's just my opinion. I played ball for a bunch of years growing up and I still love the game, dont get me wrong. I just think they play too many games to keep my interest for 6 months + Something I would be willing to promote is a pitch clock. I can flip every channel between pitches these days....I just don't have the attention span for a guy to tighten his batting gloves, knock off his cleats, get his shirt right, and adjust himself so he can just step back in, leave the bat on his shoulder and 'take' a pitch. Then after he has taken the pitch (and not done anything except take one step forward into the batters box and then one step back out) he has to readjust everything all over again? Come on. Life's too short. Watch Nomar in between pitches, it's brutal. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 29, 2008 Super User Posted October 29, 2008 The only think I wish they would change in baseball is the start time of the playoff games. I like staying up until midnight watching games, they need to start earlier. Quote
