Super User Sam Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 My goodness. I bet you can see Russia from your bedroom window! That's a lot of snow. How many inches? Quote
IDbasser Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 It was still snowing when I took the pics, and continued into the night. We got 2 feet. It was a mess here. No one was prepared for snow this early, and especially in this amount. I had to come out of the mountains early from deer hunting. Just like Idaho weather, it is supposed to be up to the 60's by this weekend. It is already melting. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 Wow, lots of global warming there! Quote
rondef Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Wow that sure is a lot of snow for early October. Quote
IDbasser Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Wow that sure is a lot of snow for early October. Some of the older people say they cannot ever remember getting this much snow in a 24 hour period, and never anything close to it in October. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Wow, that's alot of snow. Thanks for sharing those pics. It's not been below 50 degrees here in North Texas yet. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
moby bass Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Wow that sure is a lot of snow for early October. You beat me to it. No offense, IDBasser but I'm glad I don't live in Idaho. This snow thing is getting to be too much for me anymore. I don't mind a little winter, a little cold, a little snow but it comes and hangs on and hangs on. Quote
atx_newbie Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I can't wait! I'm moving to Chicago in December. I've never spent more than a week at a time north of Texas, and am looking forward to experiencing winter. Only snow I've ever seen was a trip to Buffalo where we got 8 inches, and a trip to Chicago, also getting 8 inches Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted October 13, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted October 13, 2008 Trade ya...it's still 90 degress and thunderstorms every afternoon...Man I can't wait to see the temps drop at least a little. Quote
IDbasser Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 You might have thunderstorms, but can you imagine what the boat ramp looks like with that snow. :'( Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted October 14, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted October 14, 2008 yea, did not think of that. Hopefully it will melt and then you will have all that moving water to fish. Quote
daviscw Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Wow, lots of global warming there! HAHAHAHAHA! ;D Quote
Super User grimlin Posted October 14, 2008 Super User Posted October 14, 2008 After 5 years of this Michigan weather I'm ready to move back down to Texas... ;D Yuck at the reminder of what's coming this winter. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 14, 2008 Super User Posted October 14, 2008 OUCH!!! And to think, I was complaining about frost the other day. Falcon Quote
bassnleo Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 IDbasser, I ask a favor......... KEEP THE SNOW UP THERE ;D Quote
bassdocktor Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 atx_newbie let me welcome you to Chicago. Not too bad snow wise. Usually just alot of small snows under 6" and 1 or 2 good storms. However, be prepared for the cold. You guys might be complaining about snow but it's been a great way for me to pick up money over the years. Quote
Jake P Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Wow, that's alot of snow. Thanks for sharing those pics. It's not been below 50 degrees here in North Texas yet. Yea and its humid as crap still >. I would pay big money for that kind of snow fall here. Enjoy it. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 wow that is a ton of snow. If we had that much the whole state would shut down. Quote
IDbasser Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 It has mostly melted, except for the big piles where it was piled up. Have been wearing a t-shirt outside with warm temps in the 50's and 60's. I need to get out deer hunting again now that I will be able to get back to where I was hunting. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 16, 2008 Super User Posted October 16, 2008 I'm still mowing my yard. That's impressive Quote
atx_newbie Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I'm still mowing my yard. That's impressive And you'll still be mowing it right up to the point when it's time to start raking up leaves Quote
