Still a Bigbuckifan Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Cowboys gave up a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th round draft pick. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 14, 2008 Super User Posted October 14, 2008 Jones is dumber then I thought he was. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I think he'll be worth the 3 picks Quote
fivesixone Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Roy Williams is d**n good... I'd like to see what he can do for a decent team! I can't say whether all three of those draft picks were a good trade or not, though. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 To bad they could not have sent the PacMan along with the picks. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Roy was 1st round pick, Dallas would have used a first round to get him as well. Tenn must now compensate Dallas for Pacman trade, so Dallas is only loosing a third round pick when all said and done. I couldn't be happier. Roy is home town guy who I've watched all these years. Quote
fivesixone Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Yeah, after a little research, it's like they barely lost any draft picks at all... :-? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Dallas is now leading the league in "Roy Williamses" LOL. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Dallas now has an upgraded version of the old Roy Williams 3.1. We now have a faster version. Scary offense on paper. But ...... Dallas has bigger issues. Special teams still arent very special. As seen by the Returned Kickoff and the blocked punt. Defense can't stop the run consistently, and that secondary can't cover. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 16, 2008 Super User Posted October 16, 2008 That third round pick, it came from Cleveland two years ago when Dallas moved down in the draft and let Cleveland select Brady Quinn. I get the impression from the Boys, that Adam Jones maybe done. Jerry went out on a limb for this guy, and he made Jerry look bad. Quote
Jeff C. Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I think that Pac Man will be gone.. Also, Williams couldn't catch a hand off in Detroit.. I think he dropped more passes this year than he caught .!!! it will also cause trouble with T.O. how will 40 year old Brad Johnson do for them at QB.??? Jeff Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 16, 2008 Super User Posted October 16, 2008 YOU GUYS CAN HAVE HIM!!!! He was LAZY, had a bad attitude, and couldn't catch a ball if his life depended on it. If you ask most Lions fans, they will tell you Roy Williams was a wasted draft pick. When the news came across the wire that he was traded, there was a defening cheer. Good luck, Falcon Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 16, 2008 Super User Posted October 16, 2008 Was he dogging it just to get out of Detroit or was he just not that good ? Quote
basser89 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 guess the offensive problems are all fixed now and we'll win every game from here on out?????? :-? Oh yeah, there's that whole defense thing where they can't tackle anyone! I did see the Romo is saying he wants to play through the pain. Actually hope he doesn't! I'd rather have him 100% for the rest of the year then banged up playing hurt. If we can block for Brad, I think he'll do ok. Just please don't ask him to scramble! LOL Quote
mjhutch1116 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I am sorry guys, but this Steelers fan is just sitting back and loving all of the news coming out of Dallas. With TO running his mouth and now with the injury to Romo, and now getting a player that the majority of people seem to think is worthless. (time will tell) and let us not forget the pacman distraction as well, It is no wonder they are having problems winning. I am just waiting to see what is next. Romo wants to play this sunday but after his passes looked after he broke his finger it might be best if he sits out the 4 weeks and heals up. Matt Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 16, 2008 Super User Posted October 16, 2008 Detroit was worthless before Roy was drafted. All those number one drafted receivers, and ya'll don't have a running game or QB. Easy to blame Roy, but history shows that Detroit has sucked for years. Period. Records don't lie. I don't get many Detroit games, but did watch Roy play at UT, he was hard worker back then. I don't care if TO sneezes, the media drives the bus looking for anything they can slam him for. Romo was throwing yesterday in practice. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 17, 2008 Super User Posted October 17, 2008 You're right Matt. Detroit can't blame all the problems on Roy Williams. We did, however get rid of one HUGE problem. We no longer have Matt Millen making ridiculous decisions. Before Matt Millen came to the Lions, we were in the playoffs five of the last six years. He decimated the whole team waiving or trading all core players. Why do you think Barry Sanders Left Detroit when he did???? He said the handwriting was on the wall. So, you have Roy Williams now. I wish you luck. I wonder how long before he starts complaining that T.O. is getting all the passes and starts his same whining. As I said before, good luck. He's all yours. Falcon Quote
TournyFish001 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Roy Williams is a true ace and an asset on any team- He will free up T.O. and vice versa, great move on both Dallas and Detroit. The lions need to clean house and start over the Matt Millan cancer was spread to far they will have a great opportunity to use the draft picks like dallas did back in the day when they traded away Hershal Walker. It all makes sense to me. Quote
