baboosicbass08 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 You could talk about like were you think the economy went wrong like the start of the downfall or how to fix it...idk just some ideas -Dave Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 That might be a little bit of a "touchy" subject if you don't stick to the facts. If you keep your opinion out of it no one can question you, thus not resulting in a p*ssing match. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 Debt/Credit would be a good place to start. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 You could compare and contrast our current economic situation with previous economic downturns(i.e. great depression, carter admin, late 80's, and now). Than discuss how the government adressed the problem and highlight how the market recovered after each. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 How about explaining how lenders base interest rate based on what the Fed Does Thwn explain the difference between a fixed and variable rate mortage? Quote
Bass Fear Me Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 It might make researching easier if you stick with your local economy. You probably already know and understand it. Other locals will identify with that easier too. The post above that said stick with the facts and leave your personal opinion out of it will help in the long run. Good advice. Good luck. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted October 12, 2008 Super User Posted October 12, 2008 If I did that when I was growing up in Brooklyn,on our local ecomomy the BOOKIES and LOAN SHARKS would have shot me for rattin ;D Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted October 12, 2008 Super User Posted October 12, 2008 I think that might be a tough subject to do without putting opinion in it ... turning it into a persuasive speech. Quote
