Super User roadwarrior Posted October 8, 2008 Super User Posted October 8, 2008 Wow! This sure has the potential for "Game of the Year". All you SEC boys, take notes! http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8653608/Red-River-Rivalry-can-seal-fate-for-OU,-Texas 8-) Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 8, 2008 Super User Posted October 8, 2008 The Red River Shootout has always been a classic & one college game I wait far yearly Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 8, 2008 Super User Posted October 8, 2008 It will be fun to watch. Hope it is a good game instead of a blowout. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted October 8, 2008 Super User Posted October 8, 2008 Red River Rivalry = Must See TV. I don't like either team but I'll definitely be watching the game. I guess I'll get on the OU wagon since I picked them to win it all this year. And if Texas doesn't crash the party for OU, Missouri might just do it. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 8, 2008 Super User Posted October 8, 2008 I'll give everybody some music to listen to while reading this thread. http://www.soonersportsmedia.com/audio/boomer_sooner_with_intro.mp3 One of the most recognizable college fight songs in the country, 'Boomer Sooner' immediately evokes enthusiasm from OU fans and sends chills down the spines of those who dare to oppose them. Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 9, 2008 Super User Posted October 9, 2008 Let's hope we're not let down. I hope it's better than U.S.C. vs Ohio State. Falcon Quote
Fisher of Men Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 This one's always a thrill to watch, no matter the rankings. I think we'll see Texas' weaknesses exposed and OU rise to the top in this one. I can't wait to see little boy Colt McCoy getting his bell rung by the hard-hitting OU defenders (heaven knows my Ags won't be able to do it later this year with their "Wrecking Who?" defense) Although close throughout most of the game, I'll take OU by 10. As far as Missouri stealing the show? After watching the K-state and Texas Tech game the other day, you might want to keep an eye out for Tech. A little "D" and they might take it all. Quote

I worried about TT as well. they are a very dangerous opponent right now, they could win it all with a little defense. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 9, 2008 Super User Posted October 9, 2008 How much more can OU rise? They're already #1. I worry about UT's young secondary and the lack of a game breaking back. I thought Texas' best game last year was the OU game. Hookem Horns Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 9, 2008 Super User Posted October 9, 2008 Matt, do you think TT can win the Big XII this year? Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 10, 2008 Super User Posted October 10, 2008 Anything is possible. Big XII is loaded with solid teams. OSU, KU, Mizzou, Tech, OU, and Texas are capable of beating each other up. OU is more apt to run the tables if anyone does. Hookem Horns Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 I don't know much about the Big 12--do they ever play defense or does that come later in the season? ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 That was a great game to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 Anyone have tissues for Hookem? Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Great game! I am a UNC guy that misses Mack and pulls for Texas. Glad the refs finally let them play. The OU punter could play at dook - excellent flop - although I truly believe he cramped up after the "contact". That's the way a rivalry game should be played! Also, the Texas cheerleaders are smokin' hot. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 What can I say? You can't win without defense. Running game never got started. Oh well, that's just life in the Big XII. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 Also, McCoy looked fantastic. Both QB's are phenominal. Bradford is one of the best sophomores I've ever seen. Texas controlled the ball and the clock very well. The Texas receivers looked very good. Shipley may be the fastest white man on the planet. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted October 12, 2008 Super User Posted October 12, 2008 Shipley may be the fastest white man on the planet. I agree! I couldn't believe how fast he ran between the blocks and just darted out to the endzone. That play was over in like 5 second. P.S. I think curley burley, might be faster. Quote
SMSRTC Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 As an OU fan, I wasn't happy for the last 3 quarters of that game, but I have to give props to Texas. They had little trouble moving the ball, especially in the second half. Did anyone else watch during halftime when one of the TV personalities was kind enough to let us know that OU would have to outscore Texas to win? I really appreciated that insight. At least OSU won. Great game. Quote
