So last week I went looking around a few gun stores from wal-mart to a few of my local stores and found me a nice turkey/deer shotgun combo.

For the price, you can't beat it unless you go the used gun route. I put about 10 rounds of federal 2 3/4 birdshot rounds through it after I bought it and it shot great, no problems(so far). This is my first 12 gauge I have ever owned and the first year I will hunt since 2003-04 so it will be a learning experience all over again. Anyone else excited for hunting season? ;D

P.S. - I paid $378.00 for everything, good deal IMO ;)

Here in Michigan Bow season for deer opened Oct. 1st.

My boy ( 17 years old ) got is 1st deer opening morning.

a nice 6 point.. he is pumped. !!!!!!

In the past we have had no good place to hunt, only state land. this year he has a job on a farm and can hunt there ..

ps.

I use a mossburg 20 ga. for small game & deer and it works great..

Congrats on your son's buck, thats awsome! Yeah bow season is in here too but I didnt have the funds to by one this year so maybe next. I'm not even looking for a nice buck this year, I doubt I will even catch a glimpse of one lol I just want a couple nice size does for some deer jerkey and tender loins.

IPMY03, there are plenty of deer on the Briery Creek Wildlife Management area. You can hunt for awhile then go fishing.

Thats sounds really good, I'll have to look into that! thanks for the info
