Daniel My Brother Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Elton John. Everything EJ has ever produced has been garbage. He had one good song. Something about a family member flying away on a plane. The title is on the tip of my tongue... Quote
Super User Micro Posted September 25, 2008 Super User Posted September 25, 2008 Admittedly, that song is good enough that I don't wretch much when I hear it. Quote

GREAT song writing, TERRIBLE musicians. Very basic skills involved there. But again,...credit where credit is due, they made it happen. Maybe even more of a testament that they did it without talent, lol. Quote

I have to be the only white guy , my age who never owned a copy of Sgt.Peppers!!!Iwas too busy trying to learn all those Stax records and everything coming out of Memphis, New Orleans and Oakland in those days. Way better musician ship and the writers were better. I will take a Hayes/Poter, Allan Tousaint ,Dr.John or a Hollander/Dozier/Holllander composition anytine over any of those Lennon and McCartney Hits Not to mention all the US generated Jazz and Blues of the day.
