Super User fourbizz Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 These are the only real contenders for biggest load of audio turd in history. I think KISS squeaks out the #1 position. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I voted Eagles only because Metallica wasn't on the list. Serioulsy, the Eagles retard me. Quote

fishbear Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I can not believe you young bucks are dissing 2 of the best and most successful bands in history. Both of those bands are something special in music history. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 If you had bothered to do any research, you would have found that the Eagles have sold more albums than any other group in history. Here's your sign Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Grateful Dead is most overrated, easily. Most people can't even name a single song of theirs yet their somehow considered classic. Eagles are overrated as a rock band, can't tell if you there overrated as a country band because country isn't my thing. That being said, huge Joe Walsh fan. Kiss is overrated musically, but still had some good songs and had a massive pop culture impact. I remember my entire neighborhood when I was kid having massive debates whether Gene Simmons spit up real blood or how his tounge got to be like that. Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 1986 and prior Aerosmith is underrated. Toys in the Attic is an awesome album. Post 1986 Aerosmith is way, way overrated. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted September 24, 2008 Author Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Mike, perhaps you were unable to comprehend the word "overrated". You know, widely acclaimed, yet possessing great suckiness ;D ;D Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Aerosmith is an honorable mention Those words are blasphemous. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted September 24, 2008 Author Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Aerosmith is an honorable mention Those words are blasphemous. I guess that makes you an idolater. So YOU are the blasphemer, lol Quote

So YOU are the blasphemer, lol Worshiping a true music GOD is not blasphemous. Sadly, I'm the last child around here that listens to Aerosmith (pun intended). Quote
bighed Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 "Suckiness" is a relative thing. I think the young dudes take some of these old bands out of context. Which sucked worse the BeeGees or Aerosmith, Billy Joel or Kiss. That's the usual mix the "rock" stations were playing at the time. Whether or not Metallica sucks more than the Stones depends when you were born. Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 For new groups I nominate Nickelback and Coldplay. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted September 24, 2008 Author Super User Posted September 24, 2008 For new groups I nominate Nickelback and Coldplay. Nickelback could easily make the list, but so could too many others, these two on the other hand are just ultra suck! Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 For new groups I nominate Nickelback and Coldplay. I'll see your Nickleback and Coldplay and raise you Creed and Crash test Dummies. I love this thread already. ;D Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 If your younger, you probably mostly know the Crying, Crazy, etc. songs that Aerosmith wrote to sell singles to 14 year old girls. Those plus "Walk this Way" being way overplayed I can see why somepeople wouldn't like them. The radio does a bad job of playing their good stuff and I live in Boston, I can't imagine what gets played in the rest of the country. Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Creed I agree with, although musically they were pretty good, except their singer thought he was Jesus. Quote
CRFisher Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Crash Test Dummies - that's tough. They only really had one well known song, and I thought that was so bizarre it was catchy in a pop/bizarre sort of way. We have to add Limp Bizkit to the list as well. Was there anything worse than their Who cover when they sampled a Speak and Spell? Quote
tipptruck1 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Calling bands like the Eagels, Kiss and, Aerosmith is so wrong. I listen to them all. To me they have there place in rock. To me any thing that is called pop rock and the emo rock is crap. Turn on mtv to see what iam talking about. Iam sick of seeing guys looking like woman. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Metallica takes first, second, and third on any such list. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Iam sick of seeing guys looking like woman. Well, Steven Tyler did have a touch of woman in him. But that takes nothing away from Aerosmith's eminence. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Of those two, Kiss. No doubt about that. As for those groups not on the list, another vote for Metallica, as well as REO, Boston, and Foreigner. What crap! Quote
bmadd Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Metallica, Aerosmith, and KISS for sure. MPO is Guns and Roses also. Axle Rose's voice is almost as bad as Steven Tyler's Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I can not believe you young bucks are dissing 2 of the best and most successful bands in history. Both of those bands are something special in music history. Agreed, but consider the source. These guys weren't even born (ok, Matt was in diapers) when Hotel California came out. You can't expect them to have any sort of perspective or appreciation for what that sound meant when it was new. And I wish somebody would tell my 18 year old that the Eagles are overrated and crappy so she would quit stealing my CDs. Quote
