Mobydick Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Yesterday at 6:00 am I lost one of my best friends from my years of high school. He had to quit school to take care of his mother. He was working a full time job at the age 17. He was driving a foggy road to work, he hit a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was one of the most caring guy's I knew, as I said, he had to work a full time job so he could pay the bills and take care of his mother who had cancer. He was also a great fisherman. We would talk all day in school about fishing. He told me once, "I promise we'll go fishin sometime". He told me that right before he quit school. We never did get to fish together. We are having a fishing trip in his memory this saturday. He was a great guy and he will be missed very much. I am going to school today, it will be quiet, as was yesterday. I will tell more of the story when I get back from school.... Ian Quote

Mobydick Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 Today was another quiet day at school. I plan on attending the viewing and the funeral. We still do not understand why it was him, why he had to leave. He was a great friend and work partner. He was a very good fisherman, probably better than me. To remember this, we will be putting a memorial at one of his favorite places to fish. He will be missed by everyone. Also in his memory, us who knew him well are getting tattoo's to remember him. He had 13 tattoo's, some of us are getting one that he had. We requested that the school flag be at half staff on Friday. Thanks for the prayers. ( and yes, were having a fishing trip Saturday to recall all the good times we had together with him, and every year, on September 30, we will do the same) Quote

Mobydick Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 Thanks guys.... Today was the worst. The funeral was at 11 this morning. He was an outstanding fisherman and archer, and I just wish I would have spent more time with him. I just dont understand why people have to loose things to realize what they really mean.... Quote
