Super User 5bass Posted September 17, 2008 Super User Posted September 17, 2008 USC Tojan Fans Unite!!! Whats a Tojan? Tojan was a limited production luxury sports car built for Pontiac by Knudsen Automotive from Omaha, Nebraska. Oh, I see, thanks for the info. I don't own one and I'm almost 100% sure I've never even seen one so I guess I can skip this uniting party. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 17, 2008 Super User Posted September 17, 2008 Beat a SEC team and then y'all will have bragging rights. Well, since you brought it up. Since 2002, heres the match ups between Pac 10 and Sec top teams. Alabama hasn't played. Arkansas 05 USC 70-17 06 USC 50-14 Auburn 02 USC 24-17 03 USC 23-0 06 beat Wash St. 40-14 Florida hasn't played Georgia hasn't played LSU 03 beat Arizona 59-13 04 beat Oregon St. 22-21 05 beat Arizona St 45-3 Tenn 06 beat Cal 35-18 07 Cal 45-31 08 UCLA beats Tenn. In 2003, USC won the AP vote. LSU BCS champ. USC has earned their bragging rights. Quote
zellamander Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Man you're from Kansas or are you a transplanted SoCal dude ? Haha, No, I'm a Kansas kid, but my high school was the Trojans, so I just started to watch them. They've never let me down! Quote

In 2003, USC won the AP vote. LSU BCS champ. USC has earned their bragging rights. They have earned the right to be in the top 10 regularly, but they are not as good this year as Florida, Georgia, and maybe even LSU depending on how their QB situation pans out. All their conference opponents are weak, so they don't get beat up as much as SEC teams. If they played 50% of their season against SEC teams, those wins you mentioned wouldn't be so convincing, because in at least a couple positions they would be down 2 or 3 spots on the depth chart due to injuries. When is the last time that an SEC team could say it was 100% healthy? Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 23, 2008 Super User Posted September 23, 2008 Two national titles in this decade. AP same year LSU won the BCS. You can say what you think. But until its played on the field. Its just words. All teams face injury. Besides, my comment was about "beat an SEC team and you have bragging rights". Well USC has 4 straight times. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 23, 2008 Super User Posted September 23, 2008 Arkansas 05 record 4-7 huh! That's a power house 06 record 10-4 Auburn 02 record 9-4 03 record 8-5 So in reality USC has only beaten 2 SEC teams neither of which were consider top SEC teams at the time. LSU vs. PAC-10: 11-2 LSU vs. USC: 1-1-0 2003: the crystal ball resides in Baton Rouge because the BCS is the only recognized national championship. USC has bragging rights to the worst upset in college football history with the lost to a 41 point underdog Stanford. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Why don't you share the records of LSU Pac 10 foes? And who they played or rather who they didn't. And the AP goes in the books. Its not crystal, but goes down in the books as a Championship. Don't really care who beat USC, a loss is a loss, and that all it shows in the win loss column. At least USC don't play JV teams like Appy State. ;D Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Don't know the records of the Pac 10 foes, but since 2002 and that as far as the schedules show on SEC. LSU beat Arizona in 03 59-13 o4 beat OSU 22-21 05 beat ASU 35-31 06 beat Arizona 45-3 Whats your point again. At least Ark and Auburn played USC. By the way, during the years that USC played Ark and Auburn, USC had a 112 point differential in common opponents with LSU. Do the math, USC beat the same teams LSU did by difference of 112 in the same years. We may not have played your best, but LSU didn't beat those team like USC did. ;D Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Why don't you share the records of LSU Pac 10 foes? These are the same weak teams USC play year in and year out. Arizona 3-0-0 Arizona St 1-0-0 Oregon 1-0-0 Oregon St 4-0-0 Southern Cal 1-1-0 Stanford 0-1-0 Washington 1-0-0 And the AP goes in the books. It's not crystal, but goes down in the books as a Championship. Whose books? USC's! What you always miss is that with the *** of the BCS all the colleges wishing to participate in a national championship agreed and signed contracts accepting the BCS as the only recognized championship. Don't really care who beat USC, a loss is a loss, and that all it shows in the win loss column. USC's loss to Stanford went down in the record books as the worst loss per points spread. At least USC don't play JV teams like Appy State. Appy State could beat most of USC's PAC-10 schedule Under Les Miles LSU outscored their opponents by 785 points 2005: LSU 363 - Opponent 185 2006: LSU 438 - Opponent 164 2007: LSU 541 - Opponent 279 2008: LSU 108 - Opponent 37 Total: LSU 1450 - Opponent 665 Why did LSU jump USC in 2003 & 2007 to get into the national championship? Plan & simple Strength of Schedule USC like OSU will be exposed for the paper hero's they are because ungodly stats against weak schedules does not make you a good team. Have a nice day! Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Ok guys just so y'all will understand Matt & I talk football trash on the board but when I met him last year on Toledo Bend the only mention of football was when I committed on his Texas Longhorn emblem on his outboard. This is all fun & not meant to be taken seriously I could care less if LSU lost to USC in a championship game as long as the played up to the potential. Oh yea where is that other little Longhorn he sure has been quite Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 Ah yes, USC. Just watch out for teams that have a tree for a mascot. ;D ;D ;D Quote
Bean Counter Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 [ Whats a Tojan? A Trojan is a condom! ;D USC has been good for a lot of years, but they don't play an SEC scedule and never have. I heard that the PAC 10 are changing their name to "USC and the 9 Dwarfs." Quote
