dave Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Not to get it started up again but, I've seen this one, one too many times. Don't know why or how maybe just hearing it wrong. The word is PROBABLY, not probably. Alright, carry on. Quote
jax Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Fo' Sho'!!!! I agree with you on that word. I'm am by far not an english major but "probably" really drives me insane! Quote
Olebiker Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I was listening to the news on my way to work the other day when a reporter was telling about a football player who injured his knee. She said that the player had torn his "ACLU." ;D Quote

Fisher of Men Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 X2 i probably think i agree w/u on dat 1 Someone needs to remind others that we aren't communicating by text on a cell phone around here. In addition, there's a way to properly punctuate and capitalize words on your keyboard as well. Quote
dave Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 I have a felling that people probably think the word is actually probably. Quote
dallas0996 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Uh-Oh.....if Y'all are gonna start knockin' people on their grammar, spelling and the notword probably, does that mean y'all are gonna start in on coloquialisms as well? Cuz if y'are then it might mean a whole lotta flame wars on this here board! ;D BTW....if you missed it, the above was written in jest. Just because I shorten some words and use dialect in some of my written comments, it doesn't make me stupid or con notate that I am disregarding you as readers of said remarks....I have a tendency to write conversationally, ie, the way I would sound if I were actually speaking to you. I have a higher education and what is considered to be a Shakespearean vocabulary; but on a forum, I may not use the extent of my education or proper English to make a simple comment about a fish. No Flame Job, please... 8-) Oh...my pet peeve... "irregardless" ...It's not a word.... HAHAHAHAHA!!!! It feels like a friday around here! ;D Quote
Hoover Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I agree. Where's Long Mike when you need him. Quote

jax Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Tru Dat Tru Dat Actually one of the things i hate worst is when people forget how to use punctuation and use run on sentences that run on and on plus it is hard to tell when one sentence end and another begins I just can't stand it when they do that because it takes me longer to read the post. do you guys like it when people dont use punctuation because it drives me insane or is it just me or does it drive you insane also It really bothers me to no end. No what I mean anyone watch the game last night brett farve looked like crap does anyone fish around me because I really like to fish my little girl is going to learn to fish as she gets older also she is little now but im trying to teach her alittle at a time so that one day she can out fish me and catch the biggest fish even bigger the ones you catch i love to fish almost as much as i love to watch nfl football my little girl loves to watch football to. well gotta go L8ter Whew im about outta breath on that one!
