Tom H. Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 NEVER tell your boss he is an IDIOT , I don't care how big of an IDIOT he is . IF he says he knows how to do something (even if he doesn't know how to do it) do it his way FIRST - then go back and do it the right way - Quote

jax Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 You have to remember that it is your bosses butt that is on the line too if you screw up. Alot of bosses are used to dealing with pig headed idiots that think they know everything and won't learn anything new. As a former supervisor I can tell you this from experience. Alot of employees try be impressive when they barely know what they are doing. It is the bosses job to get everyone on the same page and doing their job correctly. Sometimes bosses are paranoid to try anything new for this same reason. They tend to get into a routine. If they do everything the same way everyday, the odds of them forgetting something go way down. When something new comes along some tend to clam up at the idea of change. Change means learning mistakes. Mistakes mean cut bonuses and possiblility of being fired. I don't know the circumstances of your arguement. I'm not trying to get on you. I'm just trying to help explain the pressure of being a boss in hopes to ease the tension on your working relationship. Hope this helps a little. Quote
Tom H. Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 Jax - I know what your saying . But the deal here is . My boss doesn't have a clue as how to do anything . You see he has only been there a few months . and how he got that position many of us have no idea . Trust me when I say that he is an IDIOT . Someday he will learn that us senior guys know what the hell we are doing . He be better of sitting in his office and letting us do our thing . Quote

There are so many people that have no business managing their own affairs much less an entire crew. Too often knowing someone and having a college degree puts many unqualified people into management jobs. I can't stand it when someone with the "little man syndrome" gets into power. They give all managers a bad name. I hope things get better for you. This may be an opportunity for you to look for a new job! Quote
