anyone wear these?  any info about them, durability? comfort? break in period?

i bought a pair today to replace my old georgias, if they still made these georgias i would have bought another pair in a second.  anyway i am just wondering if these wolverines will withstand the beating they are about to receive.  if they look like this in less than five years, i will be disappointed

Red,

I have owned two pairs of wolverines, and I still have both pairs and am able to still wear them comfortably today. The first pair was a Christmas gift from my mom and dad 8 years ago. The second pair I bought about 5 years ago.  Now I don't wear these boots everyday for work but I have worn them on average about 1-2 times a week. I mainly wear them for  yard work and hunting. Great boots in my opinion and at a great price.

My dad swears by the durashock wolverines but hates the multishocks.  I have had good luck with timberlands, you might want to look into them as well.

Dad's don't seem to last too long though.  He works around a lot of greases, solvents, and other dirty things though.

I have had mine for about 3 years. I perfer to wear them over tennis shoes any day. Sure there beat up but not as bad as yours. As for breaking in the shoes. I never had to. You will not be dispointed.

I've had probably a half-dozen pairs of Wolverines in the past. They're pretty comfortable and the uppers hold up fairly well but the soles just don't last. I'd go thru a pair a year. I switched to RedWings about 5 or 6 years ago and will never go back. They cost a bit more, but they're American-made, last a lot longer, and they'll re-sole them for a reasonable fee.

I go through 3 pairs a year....

Then again i buy the cheap pair now because i can't afford the good ones anymore. My work will only allow 1 pair a year....which sucks.

If anybody does what i do and walks on literally sandpaper floors they'd go through shoes like i do.Like stasher1 mentioned the soles go out quickly.

My son will only wear Red Wings. He just bought his second pair, the first pair lasted seven years.

Find some Rocky boots, or if you can afford them, White's or Danners.

Last 2 are the best boots a man can buy, for comfort, durabiltiy, etc..

White's will even take a trace of your foot, and make your boots for you, to fit your foot and your foot only.

try the timberlands they are a good boot I will go through a good (red wings) pair of boots in a year tried the wolverine they didn't last 3 months I have had the timberlands for 6 months no problems and for a boot to last that long in the oilfield it's a good boot

I only wear boots about 30 times a year these days, but my Timberlands are between 12 to 15 years old, went through a summer working paving and landscaping, countless moshpits, and every NE winter storm in those 12 to 15 years.  I have to think I've gotten at least 500 days out of them and they still look good and soles not in horrible shape.   My father had some good luck with Wolverines, I know they used to have some lighter soles, I think those trade durability (in the sole) for comfort.

thanks for the info guys, but after wearing the boots around for the day today, i took them back.  terribly uncomfortable.  and i am just not willing to deal with that for who knows how long it will take to break them in.  i managed to find identical georgia boots online, after alot of searching.  i will continue to wear the ones above until i can save up for those.

thanks again

I'm almost exclusivley Ariat. I used to have a paid of CAT work boots but I wore them out. Wolverine is a pretty good boot. I like my Ariat ATS for workin, (they make a lace up too.) and the Ariat Cobalt for everything else. The pair of Ariats I have right I've worn almost every day for the past 5-6 months, and they're still going strong!! Tony Lama is a noce boot too.

I don't like steel toe boots.

i dont mind the steel toes, but my company requires them.  i have looked at boots similar to those you posted, but i am not much into that "western" style.  plus i gotta have laces.
