Well, here she is............

My new little toy!!

She's a 1987 Jeep Comanchee straight 6 stick shift 4x4 with a 4.0l engine. She has BFG All Terrain tires (235/75.)

My parents bought it brand new back in '87. My mom drove it for a while, then we made it a deer lease truck. For the past coulpe years it's just been sittin at our property. So, we brought it over for me to work on.

When I got it, (I meant to take pictures but forgot!!!!) It had a matching camper on the back and was coverd in mud.

Yesterday I gave it a quick scrub down, and vaccumed out and cleaned the inside.

I also fixed the clutch (ok, so it was just REALLY low on tranny oil, but hey.)

Got the radio to work when you turned on the lights, fixed the turn signals, got the AC blower workin ( I don't need cold air, just the vent, cause I ride with the windows down.) And replaced a headlight.

Tomorrow I'm gonna touch up the bumper with some paint.

I need to get a new passenger side mirror.

Forget all that exhaust stuff just get a header, and a muffler that bolts on to it, I think it will give you the sound you are looking for. I think those mufflers are called purple hornies or something.

LOL redneck clap is what some people call the pops that the exhaust makes as the rpm's go from high to low. With cherry bomb exhaust you will have it. Heres an example-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD7V8AYNWG0&feature=related.

BTW Ike, I was wrong about the horn. You CAN have the train horn or any other horn for that matter as long as you have a standard horn as well.

I have a question I was hoping you could answer. My friend says he thinks Cherry Bombs aren't legal in Harris County. I was wondering if you could shed some light on it. Thank's a TON!!!

Here are some guidelines to follow about exhaust.

1. The exhaust MUST be away from passenger areas. Either out the back or side(s), having it dumped is ok also as long as you don't have a camper on the back. When you put a camper on the bed it makes it a passenger area and having it dumped could cause the fumes to enter the camper area which is bad.

2. The muffler cannot have ANY hole in it UNLESS they are made for drainage purposes. You can not patch a whole or crack, you have to buy a complete new muffler.

3. The pipes must be held up by the mounting brackets. Not by duct tape, not by wires, not by glue or gum. It has to be held together by brackets.

As long as it meets those requirements you or anybody for that matter will be ok. Not one time in the class was I taught to fail someones vehicle because of noise level. You might get complaints from neighbors but nothing that will get you into trouble. As long as it is pushing the fumes away from passenger areas to where your not breathing any in, you are ok.

I read a paper in class where a grandmother and her two granddaughters were driving somewhere and her exhaust had a leak in it. By the time she got to where she was going and got out to get her granddaughters, they were both dead from carbon monoxide gas.

Im curious of how you are going to put a 3" body lift on a unibody truck?  In other words its not really possible.  There is not a separate frame and body the body is the frame.

Well, I guess I won't. :DI don't know too much about lifts, I'm more o a Exhaust and Tire guy. Do you have any suggestions, I don't want too much just 2-4 inches of lift. Without breaking the bank.

Well you could go with a budget lift which would amount to some coil spring spacers and longer shackles in the back.  Only problem with that is youll only get up to about 2 inches.  Anything more and youll have to start looking in to lift kits or piecing together your own.

Ya. I was checking out 4wheel parts and Jc whitney. I found a suspension lift kit for around $500 I think it includes shocks and leaf springs. I mget that. I saw a few budget kits as well.

Rough Country has good lifts at a low price. I ordered one and sent it back and had alot of problems returning it, just make up your mind before you purchase to avoid the problem.
