slomoe Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I have to pay a visit to the new memorial that opened today at the pentagon, as well as my grandfather at the national cemitary. He used to work at the pentagon. He was very ill at Arlington Hospital the day the planes hit. He passed away 9/12/2001. He is now burried facing the side of the building that was hit. I like to believe he knew what was happening and gave up his bed to someone who may have been injured in the attacks, as the hospital was very crowded. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted September 11, 2008 Super User Posted September 11, 2008 They will be forever remembered by me. Will the mastermind ever be captured ? Quote
Fisher of Men Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 We are having a special part of our pep rally dedicated to 9/11 today. I was talking to my 7th graders about it earlier and realized that they were in kindergarten when it happened. They didn't seem to "get it" completely until I mentioned that there were kindergarteners who lost their parents that same day. 9/11/01 will never leave my memory. I remember how surreal it was as I listened to radio reports all morning in my classroom. It only started to sink in when I got home and saw the towers fall. Very tragic! My prayers go out to ALL those affected by this unnecessary tragedy. -Fisher Quote
Fisher of Men Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Will the mastermind ever be captured ? I think you give him too much credit. . . more like scumbag! I pray the guy converts and asks for forgiveness, because hell is a hot place! I'm sorry, I know I should sound a little more forgiving, but that's a hard one to forgive. Only God can do that. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 We remember them all, short, fat, skinny and tall American brothers and sisters fallen,....RIP Prayers for the families left to deal with the aftermath of missing loved ones,.....they need it the most. Quote

preach4bass Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 We talked about it at a Fire Department meeting this evening and for a few minutes my gut got that same sinking feeling that it had that day. I'll never forget. I hope you don't either. Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Guess what my school is doing to remember? Showing a documentary about how hate crimes and racial profiling affected Muslim Americans after 9/11... What a load of crap! Is your school Old Dominion? I want to write a letter. Quote

Showing a documentary about how hate crimes and racial profiling affected Muslim Americans after 9/11... What a load of crap! Is your school Old Dominion? I want to write a letter. No, JMU. I should clarify though. It's not the school that decides what programs to have. A club or organization has to propose an event (movie, speaker, etc..) and then the school approves it. My guess is that a club proposed this event and that there were no other proposals for something to remember the actual victims of the attack. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I guess that's better... but still, what a bunch of crud. Quote
preach4bass Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't worry Dan. I grew up in Harrisonburg and I turned out.....well, nevermind. I'll pray for you! Do you fish the Shen.? Quote
