preach4bass Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 During the halftime report Bob Costas said there are rumors going around that Brady is done for the season. That just plain stinks as a football fan. I don't like the Patriots and I don't like Brady, but I hate to see him out for the season. I was hoping the Cowboys would beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl this year (with Brady). Quote

Super User South FLA Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 I hate to say it, but the Pats will find a way to win. It'll make for an interesting AFC east though, short of my lousy Phins of course. Quote
Jake P Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Lets see here, in the AFC East we have the Pats, Phins, Bills and Jets. The Patriots with Tom Brady is almost a guaranteed divisional win HOWEVER, Tom Brady is now injured possible for the remainder of the season. I wonder what other team has a good QB with alot of knowledge to lead them to a division title :. Quote
CRFisher Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I can only think of Buffalo besides the Pats with a chance to win the division now that Brady is hurt. Quote
rondef Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Chris Simms signs with the Patriots by late this afternoon. Adam Schectner is reporting that Brady has a torn ACL and MCL. Man it is going to be tough for us Pats fans this year having to rally around Matt Cassell. He hasn't started a game since high school, man is that scary. Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Less than 8 mins into the season, and now its all changed for us Patriots fans. I just sat over friends couch with a very ill sinking feeling in the stomach. What was a hopeful march back to the SB. Now becomes a battle to secure the AFC East Div title. Well here is to Matt Cassell for leading them to a hard fought win. Lets hope he can do it again next week. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 Well, you know what they say about karma.... :-X Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 Sorry to the Pats fans on this site, but I have waited years for this to happen*. A friend of mine is a huge Pats fan and that is all I hear out of his mouth. It will be nice to see some of the other teams step up. I know it is childish, but I have been rubbing it in his face all day. It's time to call up some friends to help rub it in too ;D Maybe this is karma's payback for all the secret recording :-? *I not glad that Brady is hurt, I am very glad that he is out for the season. Quote
Troutfisher Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Maybe this is karma's payback for all the secret recording :-? x1,000,000,000,000. Absolutely. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 I really do not care a RATZ AZZ about football, however>>>>>>>>You know, NOBODY DISLIKES THE NEW YORK YANKEES MORE THAN ME, and while I take great joy in when they loose or someone breaks a Yankee held record. I HAVE NEVER FELT GLAD FOR AN INJURY! Thats really cold, and as unsportmanslike as you can get, especially out of guys mouths who have talked about players acting in ways they don't condsider sportsman like behavior This is like people who watch racing to see the wrecks, taking anykind of good feeling away from an atheltes injury is beyond me. Quote
mjhutch1116 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I do not like to see anyone injured on the football field, but this is one of those that I am close to enjoying, just a little. I am so sick of hearing about the Patriots and how great they are. Then you hear Moss saying right after the game that the hit was dirty. That is BS, I saw that hit many many times now and there was nothing dirty about it. Matt Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 I hate to see any athlete injured, but for this to happen to one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game is particularly disappointing. I hope Tom Brady returns to the game. Salute! 8-) Quote
Jake. Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Imagine how pouty Belichick will be now.... Quote

That is BS, I saw that hit many many times now and there was nothing dirty about it. That's because you're a Steelers fan! LOL! I liked Brady when he was at Michigan but after his first superbowl, I lost a lot of respect for him. I know he's changed since that superbowl but...... Don't get me wrong, I don't wish an injury on anyone but it is part of the game. It could happen to anyone. Just the wrong place at the wrong time. GO COWBOYS! ;D Quote
CRFisher Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 What's this "secret recording" everyones talking about. Don't see how a guy walking around with a big camera in broad daylight is "secret". Stupid - yes, secret - no. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 No thats LOW BUGET HOOKERS you saw, they are talking about the guy stealing signals Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Sounds like allot of you guys are just drinking too much of the Hater-aide. Im about as big a Patriots fan as anyone. It was sad to see him go down like he did. Hate the team or not he is easily one of the top notch QBs to ever play the game, on a well coached above average team. It wasnt a lock that they were going back to the SB but they were the favorites when the season started. Now Im not giving up on them yet. I still think they can win the AFC EAST, but thats about it. I just hope he can return with no loss in his performance in the 2009 season. Quote
rondef Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 This most certainly was a cheap shot. Watch the entire play not just the last couple of seconds. Pollard came across the line and Sammy Morris knocked him to the ground. Pollard then gave a second effort and lunged at Tom's lower leg, below the knee. If that is not a cheap shot I don't know what is. This is the same kind of play that Roger Goodell fined Vince Wilfork for last year when the Patriots played the Bills. Quote
