Super User burleytog Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 After several years of labeling Budweiser as crap, I have seen the light. Me and Mr Bud Light have become rather good friends... :-[ Quote
IMPY03 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 out of curiosity...what beer did you drink before bud light? I hope its wasnt that nasty miller lite Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 He was a Zima fan I think...... Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 He was a Zima fan I think...... Must have been...has the same amount of flavor as Bud Light. I guess if you ran out of water and needed to: make jello; fill water balloons; wash the bugs off your windshield; water your tomatoes; put out a campfire; mix a small batch of concrete for brushpiles; or shave, Bud Light would do. AnthonyRSS Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I'm with Gone Phishin. If you are going to drink waterbeer, at least get the cheapest stuff available- MBL. Oh yeah.... Quote
NaterD Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Bud = Scud... its not even an American owned company anymore... we can hardly call it the all american brew Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 Budweiser is still made in the same breweries and by the same people. Ownership is all that has changed. 8-) Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Bud Light is the only beer that my GF will drink becuase it has the least amount of beer taste. I don't drink beer with GHT, Mille Lite has way more flavor than Bud LiGHT. If I wanted to drink water I would get it from the tap. Quote
The_Natural Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Miller Lite definitely has more flavor; it sales were so good budweiser had to come out with a light beer with more flavor aimed right at ML. Bud Select is that beer. At all the bars in Norman (college town), Bud reps were out in force around the launch of Bud Select, and if you happen to be drinking a Miller Lite, they would buy you a round of bud select. I'm still a Miller Lite guy, or ML's as we call them. Quote
Olebiker Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I just finished a case of Bud Light that was given to me. I'm not a big fan of American-style lagers in any case, but I thought BL was pretty nasty. Regular Bud is just fine. AB has a Michelob Porter that has become my beer of choice. If I can't find that I drink Amber Bock. I really try to avoid microbrews that overwhelm their precious little brews with too much hops. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 4, 2008 Author Super User Posted September 4, 2008 I'll drink what ever my stomach and feet allow. Thus far, that is Ultra and BL. Quote
shorefisher Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 As far as light beers go, i'm kinda partial to Labatt's blue light. Otherwise: Guinness Sierra Nevada Magic Hat #9 are my go to players. Quote
IMPY03 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I usually dont drink light beer unless I'm low on cash and then I go and visit nattyville but other wise I usually drink Budweiser. I use to pick with one of my buddies about Miller because he drove a beer truck earlier this year and he would be the only one drinking Miller lite wherever we went Quote
Fisher of Men Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Although not a drinker anymore, back in the day my brand was that stuff called FREE. Nothing like it. ;D Seriously, we'd buy a six pack of the good stuff and a case of cheap stuff. After the first three or four, you quit caring what it tastes like. Quote
AnthonyRSS Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 $MBL<everything else. So if cheap beer is to be had, make it the cheapest. For a good summer brew, try Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Has a unique flavor. Anthony Quote
mattm Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Along the lines of what Fisher of Men said, there are only 3 types of beer. Hot beer, cold beer and free beer. That being said if I'm buying its Bud Light. Quote
guitarkid Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 $MBL<everything else. So if cheap beer is to be had, make it the cheapest. For a good summer brew, try Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Has a unique flavor. Anthony Yeah, I bet pale ale does have a "unique" taste!! Just ask Stiffler. -tumnus Quote
Bass Tard Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Put away the beer and reach for the Knob...................... Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted September 4, 2008 Super User Posted September 4, 2008 Some people like beer, others like whiskey. Frenchies like wine. Real men drink Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted September 5, 2008 Super User Posted September 5, 2008 Sorry Bass Tard, I like Knob Creek but still like my sour mash better. George Dickel is where it's at. Quote

Olebiker Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 For a good summer brew, try Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Has a unique flavor. Listerine has a unique flavor, too and I guess you could learn to tolerate it it, but why would you? Be forewarned, I'm going to harp on one of my pet peeves: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is symptomatic of a really bad trend in brewing: more hops is better. It is just a ruse to disguise beer and ale made with inferior grains. The sad thing is that a lot of young drinkers think they are being hip by drinking overly-hopped beers. Drink a good malty beer like Sam Smith's Organic Ale. That's what beer is all about. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted September 5, 2008 Super User Posted September 5, 2008 Tried some Land Shark the other day, wasn't impressed much. Like Corona better. I will drink about anything as many of my friends have different tastes in beer. That being said, Bud Lite will do, Miller Lite will do, but if I'm anywhere near the PA line, it's Yuengling for me.
