Has anyone used or have experience with this new X Caliber TX3 Leverage flexible hook? I have noticed them being used on the new booyah boogee bait and just wondered if they were just a gimmick or if they actually make a diffrence in hooking up fish. Heres the link to the boogee bait for those who dont know what Im talking about.

Leverage hooks have been around for a long time.  They have their own line of spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and jigs.  Check them out at www.bassbait.com.  Pradco is licensing the hook design for the Boogee baits.

The benefit is not in the hookup, but in keeping the fish on after getting hooked.  The flexible wire makes it harder for the bass to use the baits weight as "leverage" to help throw the bait and get off.

The Boogee baits are good baits IMO.

I've used the Leverage buzzbaits for a few years with excellent results.  It is exactly as Brad said, the benefit is after the hookup.  They just don't throw the hook.  I've not had to use a trailer hook with them, but I would imagine it could benefit even when using a trailer hook.

I don't have any experience with the exact lure you've listed, but I think you're question was more geared toward the leverage hook that I have used.  Hope this helps your decision "to buy or not to buy"!
