So Tyrius: How fat are ya anyway big guy????

Hah, this thread did get opened back up.

At my fattest I was about 205 and wolfing down entire Jack's pizzas for dinner.  That's for a 5'7" guy.  I realized I was too heavy and lost about 40 pounds.  That was about 7 years ago.   ;)

Any other questions?   8-)

Sorry, I'm against this fat tax.

I didn't think this was a tax.  I thought that they would be paying a little extra for health insurance.

You can call it what you like, I was just going by the subject line of the thread.

I am naturally skinny, not trying to brag, but I think it shpuld be equal for all.

"For we hold these truths to be self evident that ALL men (or women or children) are created equal"

big or little.

overweight, underweight, and every where in between.

All men, women, and children are indeed created equal.  It's how we decide to treat our bodies after that.

TF, I eat healthy, drink only water (for the past 1.5 years), and exercise daily.  I've got a strength and conditioning period during school in which I lift weights.  I play a match of tennis 5 times a week, and usually play soccer for a few hours about twice a week...

But at 5'8 200lbs, I'm "overweight".  I went to the doctor last week for a physical and she told me my weight was "off the charts".  I laughed at her.

People are built different.  Each person is a specific case and should not be lumped together.  Please do not stereotype people.

If I wanted to be judged as inferior by the government, I wouldn't be living in America, land of the free.  There is only so much power in the world. Every time a law is passed, the people lose some of that power.  I'm tired of losing that power.

If anyone thinks they have the right to judge me, Muddy, or anyone else, please raise your hand.  You might want to look at your own faults first.

EZ Hookem, it comes with being the chairperson of a political club. Comes with the turf. I respect you for your heart and your desire to learn and to stand up for your values, and conduct an argument without looking down at the person you disagree with, EVEN ME AT TIMES ::)

I don't care what you look like, I ain't ever gonna go out on a date with you. ;)

whoa, whoa, whoa

Are you saying that you respect hookem for those things? I ask because you burned TF for having his opinion, but praise Hookem for saying pretty much the same thing for the other team.

No I didnt burn TF. I strongly disagreed with him. I als have disagreed with Hookem, on more than one ocassion, there is a huge difference in style. In fact Hookem and I disagree about a lot of stuff, it's all in the groove it's put out.

Letys get it down to personalized situations, since your not fat:

Let me ask you a question WWIII, as a law enforcement member. Lets say >>In NY state part of the sales tax for hunting ammunition goes to a fund to supply police officers with bullet proff vests. I like to hunt, not being a covicted felon I have the right to buy guns and ammunition. Why should I pay more for my stuff, posing no threat to law enforecment to protect law enforcement from thugs who act differently? Same scenario different cause, which way would you go here/ Actually i dont mind the few extra cents to do this, but many have stated it's a back door form of gun control?

Your arguments with me always seem to come from ne personalizing thing, it is the only way anything is relevant to me. Otherwise it does not concern me.Hookem can argure, stand his ground and not condecend, unique in a young man, so he has my respect.

PS It's not that I go to sleep hating on you, I love to argue a point and it's not like were cousins or buddies or anything. When I turn the computer off thats it for me, until the next battle of ideas. I don't get a twisted gut over any of this, I rather find it entertaining

Why has this discussion went from one of a group of people paying more for health insurance to a discussion of a "fat tax"?  The original article has nothing to do with a fat tax.

This situation boils down to should someone who is overweight be charged more for health insurance.  If this discussion is one of "should people be taxed for being overweight" then I disagree with that.

They're very different things and shouldn't be thought of as identical.

What was that that Hookem said about stereotyping people?

Whoa now!  I didn't mean at all to offend or stereotype you Hookemdown!  Just making a point, and not intended at you.  I'm specifically speaking of people who purposely trash their body.  You directly said you at least give some sort of effort, therefore you're not at all in the category I'm speaking of.

The only thing I'd argue about you with would be football brother!  8-)

Thanks for respecting my opinion Muddy.  Let me know if I start offending you guys with my views, I don't wanna make personal attacks.  That's how things get ugly.  :-/
