sean0920 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 i started fishing some friday night tourneys. i do well with dropshotting worms and such during the day and was wondering if anyone has dropshotted at night using worms, etc? the night bite hasnt really started to heat up yet so i am just thinking about options thanks Quote
Cory20 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 When I think night fishing I think bigger baits that are louder and move more water. They're easier for the fish to see and hear. I've never tried dropshotting at night so who knows. Some old standbys for night fishing for me have been: 5/8 oz jointed black jitterbug, or the size smaller black spook jr, or spook black buzzbait pop-r 1/2 oz black and blue spinnerbait with a # 5 or 6 colorado blade wide wobbling crankbaits with rattles 6" dark senko type bait black and blue jigs with rattles T-rigged 7"+ curly tailed worms Conditions permitting I would fish topwater right up until it gets dark out, switch to a jig, trigged worm, or a weightless senko if the topwater bite dies. If they're not on topwater, or taking the baits sluggishly, I'd search with a slowrolled spinnerbait. Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 31, 2008 Super User Posted May 31, 2008 When fishing at night use the same baits for the same techniques on the same locations you would during the day. 1 Quote
hawgchaser Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 When fishing at night use the same baits for the same techniques on the same locations you would during the day. Everybody has techniques that work for them. But for me, that is just not the case. I catch the better bass on baits and techniques completely different than in the day. I am sure dropshotting might work at night BUT any finesse technique would be last on my list. Big black colorado blade spinners and 10" worms have produced more 8lb plus bass for me than any other. Super User burleytog Posted June 1, 2008 Super User Posted June 1, 2008 Good way to put five in the boat before midnight. Quote
Willzx225 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Zoom Trickworm or V&M Needle Worm (8") T Rigged or C Rigged will always put fish in the boat at night for me. Also the new G Tail by Zoom looks like a nighttime killer! Quote
