JShrock07 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I'm sure you're probably a real nice guy, and a big hit at parties but:I'm a cop and my friends are cops. I also know cops that aren't my friend. Some are d**ks and some aren't. Just like this forum for example. People like you can say dumb stuff and it's not a reflection of the entiriety of the population. I would look dumb now if I said, "I hate the members of bassresource.com" because I don't respect you. I've done things that I don't like to do, and sometimes I don't always agree with the things that I'm asked to do. The fact remains that our society has chosen to make speed in excess of a posted limit illegal. A municipality has chosen a fine for that infraction, in your case $200. Don't blame them for enforcing the rules. If you can do better, by all means suit up. Agencies are always hiring, I'm sure a policeman has been shot and killed today somewhere. p.s. when your car turns into a fiery hell-ball of an injury accident and you lie in an unnaturally contorted fashion waiting for someone to help, a policeman will most likely be the one who pulls your fat from the flames. I completely agree as a Deputy myself, We are out trying to protect the good people from the people who do not think about the reaction to their actions. Its so ridiculoius to hear people say they hate cops!! I put my pants on the same way everyone else does, Like I tell everyone I come in contact with I'm no better then the next person and the only difference between me and them is that they got caught and I didn't. But now that I have this job I no longer do the dumb *** things that I used to do as a young kid. I hope you learned something from this encounter with Law Enforcement, and I hope you realize that you are not going to get any sympathy from the majority of guys on here! >
tallydude Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 52 in a 35 if you guys want to know. The part that really burns my bum is hacing to take this @#$%@%!% driving class now. I've been driving for 15 years and this is my first offense. Now you want me to take a driving class? Get real. BTW, Long Mike, do you even have cars in Oklahoma?
Super User grimlin Posted August 15, 2008 Super User Posted August 15, 2008 52 in a 35? dude, you were flying! Well things changed in 15 years...might not be so bad to learn something you didn't know. I took a driving class voluntary just so i can brush up on anything new.Plus because i did that it dropped my insurance by $10 every month.Look as it as a good thing....you just might learn something.
njbasser Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 52 in a 35 if you guys want to know You shouldn't be complaining
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 15, 2008 Super User Posted August 15, 2008 Unless you where being chased by your mother in law, 52 in a 35 is downright lethargic.
Super User Long Mike Posted August 16, 2008 Super User Posted August 16, 2008 Tallydude, we don't call them cars in Oklahoma. We call them horseless carriages. I have heard there a three of them. I use my mule, Hortense, to tow my Tracker. ;D ;D ;D

I've been driving for 15 years and this is my first offense. Now you want me to take a driving class? Get real. BTW, Long Mike, do you even have cars in Oklahoma? Thats 17 MPH over the speed limit. The ticket wont be the last of it. get ready to bend over and take it from the INSURANCE companies after they catch wind of it. They always ask "have you ever beend ticketed for going over 15 mph over the speed limit". A ticket like that once doubled my friends premium. Just be glad you didnt get a reckless driving ticket with that also. Vic
Super User fishfordollars Posted August 16, 2008 Super User Posted August 16, 2008 The last ticket I got was in 1994. 68 in a 55. The one before that was in 1972, 75 in a 65. Only two tickets in last 37 years. Just lucky I guess. I have a family full of police officers and they have never helped me out of anything. I never asked them either.
Newman12Fan Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 52 in a 35, ONLY a $200 fine, and you are complaining??? Humm.
rondef Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 52 in a 35 in Virginia will get you a reckless driving charge, a higher fine then what you have to pay and a front seat in a drivers education course. Face it you screwed up, you get no sympathy from me. Suck it up, pay the fine, take the class and learn your lesson.

If your in a hurry, leave sooner. I dont think your in any place to "hate" a police officer that is just doing his job. The speed limit is there for a reason, its not a suggestion. You say you have been driving for 15 years with no tickets and you think having to take a class is a joke because you got one finally? If your going 17 mph over then maybe you need a refresher course. I dont see why people hate and disrespect people enforcing laws, they're just doing there job. Without them, in the world we live in, everyone would be doing triple digits and the fatality rate would be sky high. Respect those who make a living trying to make this country a better place for YOU. Just my .02 cents.
MattStrykul Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I agree with 99% of what you all said on here, but sometimes...cops can take it to the limit... Baltimore 07'

Next time you get pulled over, make sure to jump out of the car and yell "I hate cops!" Then stick your hands in your pockets/waistband really fast. That gets people out of tickets sometimes. I'm glad I know a mortgage banker, otherwise I would probably hate mortgage bankers. Fortunately, I can just fall back on this interaction and form an opinion about you because of the way you represent yourself. Not because of what you do.

Super User Gatorbassman Posted August 16, 2008 Super User Posted August 16, 2008 If you could just spend one weekend following me around at work you would never want to speed again and you would always wear your seatbelt. You just don't know. The dead ones are the lucky ones. Slow down. A couple of seconds in saved driving time isn't worth years of pain.
