So.... I made possibly the biggest mistake in the world. I went about a month ago to register my boat, and I forgot to tell the fiance that i had spent that money. I also ordered 2 new quantum reels. All in all i wrote a check for about $300 bones.  I never thought to tell her, just didn' think it was important I guess.

Well, she asked me about a day ago if i had spent any money. Well, let me tell you, I would forget my head if it wasn't attached and i said that i didnt think so. Well she let it go, and about 4 hours later she asked again. I made the same reply. Well, I go hook up my boat this morning and go to the gas station and break out my check booka and see the stub to the previous check i wrote... My first thought was oh man, i'm in trouble.  I fill up anyways and go to put some ice in the boat, when i realize none of my fishing stuff was in the boat. I call my fiance and ask her if she had see my fishing stuff. Her reply.... I DON'T THINK SO.....

Sleep with one eye open, lad. And remember it does not get any easier. Man I feel for you.

Maybe if you're lucky , she'll dump you.

No way, she has him by the balls now. ;D

If I were him, my next purchase would be a nice little wooden box, so she has something to put them in! ;D

Ouch... haha. Yeah, i'd say that she has me now. I'm not exactly sure what to do to get my fishing stuff back.

Dinner out and/or flowers usually does the trick.

Get a second job and start collecting again.

haha, you don't know this girl. Dinner and flowers are nothing to her. This girl likes jewelry, and i don't mean like a little necklace for couple hundred. This girl likes diamonds that would take her straight to the bottom of a lake if she fell out of a boat.....

I keep my fishing money in a separate online account. Then if I need to make a big purchase she only sees the little bit of money I have to take out of our account. She knows I have it and she knows that I move my spending money into it but she never knows how much is in it.

But when she does get mad at me I usually offer to keep the kids for a day and she goes shopping. Then all is good.

Well, we don't have any kids. I'm thinking about sending her to the spa for a day. That way she can get her nails done and a massage and whatever else those people do.

First off if she is 24 and you stay together she will bring it up when she is 64! :-/

I am 57 the ol lady is 58, we are past the point of having to lie. She is my better half, not my mother. If there are responsibilities pressing and I want something to fish, it goes on the back burner, there have been times, such as recently she went ahead and picked up something for me.

Agree with fluke and muddy. A check for shopping (while you go carry the bags of stuff) will cure that AND she's not your mother. You don't need permission but as a couple you set a limit of spending without checking with the other. My wife and I agreed that ours is $50.00 Anything over that warrants a call which usually answered with an 'okay, if you want/need it'. I'm cheap when it comes to me and my wife knows it. My recent purchase of the lil' boat with all the trimmings was given her blessing long before I bought it. Actually she prodded me to buy it. Love that woman.  8-)

You're 19 years old, grow a set.Look in the closet and see how many pairs of shoes she has.I'm sure she told you about how much she spent on all of them.Get your stuff back and go fishing.

Maybe you should go get a couple of G-loomis rods and a couple new revos and tell her that you had to replace what someone stole  ;D

That's pretty rotten.  It wasn't a good thing you did.  But you can redeem yourself.  Return those Quantums and buy a couple of Abu Garcias.

Zellm,

your post has me confused

The tittle says does anybody lie?

but your post implies that you just forgot which is it?

if you just forgot then her actions are out out of line and I wouldn't put up with it. Her line was uncalled for and the removing of the equipment is childish

if you lied then ??? basically you are a bonehead ( soorry to be blundt )

Be smart, get another account that she does not know about, then she will never know.

And BTW and ancor will take her to the bottom of the lake and it costs less then diamonds!  But of course I am not recommending thisoption, unless the life insurance will cover the cost of a new boat, new rod, new real, new lake house, etc.

Wow, she's 5 years older than you? Cougar alert!  ;)

Seriously, tell her you didn't remember it and that you agree in the future that you BOTH will discuss purchases bigger than $100.00 with each other. If you don't say we you're setting a horrible precidence (sp?) for the future for her to walk ALL over you.
