soccplayer07 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Hello all. I tried the robo worms on a shakey head rig yesterday. I like the action but their durability is horrid at best. Anyone else notice that problem? Other recom. for a shakey worm? Thanks. Quote
Thefishy1 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 As with a lot of hand pours you trade durability for better action, but in my opinion it is worth it Quote
Davis Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Depends how hard there hitting I guess. One Roboworm has lasted three fish and still going. I was fishing them weightless though. Quote
Infidel. Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 As with a lot of hand pours you trade durability for better action, but in my opinion it is worth it X2! Quote
Willzx225 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I agree it is a necessary trade off when the bite is tough. When they are biting good I will use the old injection molded mass produced baits. Quote
Super User Raul Posted May 19, 2008 Super User Posted May 19, 2008 As with a lot of hand pours you trade durability for better action, but in my opinion it is worth it X3 Want another option with a little more durability ? try Zoom 's Trickworms and Finesse worms Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 19, 2008 Super User Posted May 19, 2008 Zoom's are ok but you can catch fish after fish on Berkley Shakey Head worms, they float the whole time it is on the jig-head as well. Where as Zoom's die out after a little while. Quote
SuthernProg Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I love the Roboworms, but have used the Zoom Trick Worms and YUM Houdini worms also with success. Quote
SoCalRob Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 anyone wanna suggest a good shakey head that doesn't break the bank? Is the *** one any good? Quote
-ebby- Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 zoom trick worm- like four bucks for twenty i think and can be used other ways to Quote
jhoffman Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Zoom actually makes a "Shaky Head" also. The trick worms are actually supposed to be fished weightless. Quote
bronzeback5 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I use the 6" shakin zipper in the river when muddy, no worm compares to it when you want bigger profile and the best action. But you are right, not very durable. The first 1 inch is the problem, its like there is too much salt and they are cracked as soon as you get them out of the bag. Still nothing compares to them for action. Another great one that i use in clearer conditions is Reaction Innovations Flirt 6.95. More durable and good action. I get mine at Tackle Wharehouse.com. Free shipping on orders over $50 and they have every color for the flirt and zipper. Bite Me shakey head jigs are the best IMO. Quote
hawgchaser Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 anyone wanna suggest a good shakey head that doesn't break the bank? Is the *** one any good? anyone wanna suggest a good shakey head that doesn't break the bank? Is the *** one any good? Gambler Sweebo worms are fantastic. I use either robo, zoom, or gambler. The Sweebo has a very strong scent that makes those fish hold on just a little bit longer......maybe They have good jig as well called giggyheads. Quote
