Red Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 well some of you may know from my posts and/or pictures that my two young nephews have been living with me and my wife, for over a year now. well today we had court to make it official, and we won! we have permanent custody of them. their parents are now required to pay US child support, and can only have visits on a certain weekend per month, if they cant do it then...to bad, maybe next month(now we can legally tell them "no"). additionally any uninsured medical costs are split 50/50 between the mother and father. we had a great attorney and they didnt have a leg to stand on. it was too easy. now these two great boys can continue to have a stable home environment. although i do fear it will cause them some emotional problems down the road, but until then, and when that time comes, we will do our best to love them as if they were our own!! thanks for reading Cliff Quote

Red Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 thanks for the nice words guys. just a little FYI. their parents are around, both live here in waco actually, but they have never really lived with them. they lived with my mother in law for the two years before we took them in...so two years with her, one year with us, and one of them is only 4!!! in short, the mother and father are useless as n a bull! thanks again Cliff Quote

Super User Sam Posted August 6, 2008 Super User Posted August 6, 2008 Cliff, Once in a while the courts get it right. Congrats on your victory. It is a big victory that will have a positive impact on two young lives. Please send us the pics of what you teach them to catch and also put them on the forum so they can ask questions, etc. You and your wife are not only blessed but are two wonderful people to do what you did. Keep on trucking! Quote

Super User Alpster Posted August 6, 2008 Super User Posted August 6, 2008 Absolutely AWESOME Cliff, Phillipians 2:3-4 says " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Not many people have the courage or compassion to do that. God bless you & your wife for your sacrifice for these boys. KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!! Ronnie Quote
