mike bat Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 ok i just had to say somthing here .... 1st i have always been a fan of the packers ... i have always stood by and cheered for the packers even when we lost bad ... but this brett / packers thing is getting old ... they bolth have there different storys ... and if you were just watching the news it would be easy to believe the packers ... however , the packers offer brett 20 mill to stay home ... 20 MILL ,,, to stay home ... now is where you have to read between the lines ... this move just confirms the packers are full of crap ... you cant pay off brett ,, what are they thinking ??? and what is the message to the fans and locals here who pay packers taxxes on everything ... its not about the money ,,, its not about the packers ... this is about BRETT hey wants to play ... we packers fans wanna win today ,,, our best chance of winning is whit Brett ... i dont understand the message the green bay packers are sending the fans ... and i am sitting here watching the green bay packers devide the fans with there propaganda ... im over it ,, they need to start Brett and welcome him HOME and green bay is HOME for Brett .... Super User grimlin Posted August 4, 2008 Super User Posted August 4, 2008 but this brett / packers thing is getting old ... I think that might be why nobody's answering. I cheered on packers through the whole brett farve era. But let's face it,he should have stayed retired. He retired as a legend...why wreak that now? This whole thing is coming off as a joke...and what for?Like you said fans are gonna lose respect over the packers organization and farve himself. This whole thing is becoming a joke and nobody is amused by it. It's sports...i don't take anything serious anymore...it's all about the money anywhere you go now.Which is why sports don't appeal exciting to me anymore like back in the day. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I don't think the players are totally at blame asking for more money. I think its really there agents feeding there egos. As for sports I will watch any thing that they don't get paid for all day over pro sports. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 As said on Rome's show today, "Mrs. Farve game him $21 million to go back to Green Bay." ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
detroit1 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 It is spelled FAVRE, not farve. As a Lions season ticket holder since 1980, i have seen him every time he's in town, i think the lions only beat him 3 times at home. Noone will look good when this is sorted out. Can't blame the pack, he's thought of retirement the last 4 or so years, and they must plan on the future. On the other hand, can't blame brett for changing his mind and wanting to play. I've seen too many lions that DIDN'T want to play. So, the only logical thing to do is to NOT trade them to the Vikes (instant super bowl champs) but to a harmless Detroit team. :-[ Quote
mike bat Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 looks like he may go to tampa bay ... as of now ... all i will say about this is ,,, if we drop brett and rodgers struggles like he will ... ted t and mike m will be packing thier bags ... i dont see rodgers making it through 4 games before hes injured .... this just doesnt make any sence we wanna win this year not 5 years from now ... ValkyrieRider Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I can see both sides of the story. I think it showed real class for Brett to decline to take away the starting job from Rogers. Brett said he was going to retire, the team had to move on, and they decided to go with Rogers. Brett can't honestly expect the team to drop everything weeks before training camp and tell Rogers to take a seat again. If he want's to play he should be able to play, and the Packers should have the right to stick with their quarterback. I like Brett and I like the Packers. I can't wait to see Tampa Bay vs Green Bay in the 4th game of the season Quote
mike bat Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 i wonder how he will do if they trade him to tampa bay .... im not sure the packers will allow him to go to tampa ... i really belive they will trade him to the jetts ... that way they wont have to face him 4 games into the season ... ok so what if they trade brett to tampa ... rodgers stinks it up and then here comes tampa bay ... you see my point ,, if we trade brett to tampa and they beat us ,, that means brett won .... ted t and mike will be run outta town ... i just dont see Rodgers really being that good ... and hes brittle ,, i dont believe he will be able to finish a season ...we will see Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 7, 2008 Super User Posted August 7, 2008 Favre to Jets. http://www.packers.com/news/releases/2008/08/06/2/ Quote
